Gorillaz share a surprise new track, Garage Palace featuring Little Simz. The song has already been raucously received at their live shows and now it comes accompanied by a brilliantly retro 8-bit video game visualiser. Collaborating with Little Simz’ illustrator McKay Felt and director Noah Harris, this video adds to their long run of innovative and ground-breaking work, with the game ingeniously following Simz through dark alleys and cloudy skies on a series of combats, missions and obstacles to reach the top of a tower block for her final battle, but not without the collective muscle of Gorillaz behind her. Level UP! Even more excitingly, Little Simz will be supporting Gorillaz on the Humanz tour across European and U.K. dates this Autumn/Winter. European dates commence in November which will lead to their homecoming gigs in London’s O2 Arena on December 4th and 5th, with their usual line up of surprise special guests. The Super Deluxe Vinyl Boxset consists of Gorillaz’ new album Humanz, presented across 14 individual pieces of 12-inch different coloured vinyl, packaged in individually art-worked sleeves. All tracks on Humanz are backed with a non-album bonus track, most of which are previously unreleased. The Boxset also Includes a 54-page, cloth-bound, foil-blocked, hardback book of Gorillaz artwork by Jamie Hewlett and a download card, all housed in a bespoke 12-inch vinyl carrying case. Following the release of his critically acclaimed new album ‘Woodland Echoes’, Nick Heyward will release a new single ‘Perfect Sunday Sun’ on 17th November via his own label Gladsome Hawk. The “idyllic” track, as described by Uncut magazine, focuses on “my interpretation of indecision, idealism and havering - a kind of trilogy, like Krzysztof Kieślowski’s ‘Three Colours’ film series,” explains Nick. Its college rock choruses part away from the bucolic pop of the rest of the album, making the single into the perfect soundtrack of an endless English summer’s afternoon. Prior to his hugely successful and prolific solo career, Nick came to prominence as the frontman of percolating pop-funk new wave group Haircut 100, a foundational part of the 80s-pop explosion. They released four UK Top 10 hit singles, with their debut album ‘Pelican West’ reaching no. 2 in the UK album charts, no. 31 in USA’s Billboard 200, and ending up being certified platinum by BPI, with Nick gracing the cover of pacesetting style magazine The Face. Entering as the highest new entry at No. 4 in the Official Independent UK Albums chart, ‘Woodland Echoes’ has seen support across the board with positive reviews from the most credible music publications including; The Observer, Sunday Times Culture, Mojo, Uncut, Classic Pop and Record Collector, while previous singles have been supported by Sarah Cox and Vanessa Feltz on BBC Radio 2, Gary Crowley on BBC London - who made ‘Baby Blue Sky’ his ‘Record of the Week’ – as well as Loose Ends on BBC Radio 4 and BBC London’s Robert Elms. Having already appeared on TV shows including Lorraine, London Live and BBC Red Button, Nick will perform for BBC 1 Children in Need at Wembley Arena in November, and is co-starring in an upcoming Channel 5 show which will see the singer songwriter tour the UK in a camper van in a show called ‘Celebrity Motor Homes’ alongside celebrities such as Lesley Joseph, Melvin Hayes and Cleo Rocos. With his recent solo set at this year’s Great Escape Festival praised by Drowned In Sound as “one of the finest we heard all weekend, his second coming is imminent” and his recent full band headline show at 229 received rave reviews by the likes of Metro, Nick is set to return to the live circuit with a full UK tour in Spring 2018. His first record in 18 years “can't be called a return to form for Heyward because he never lost his form; it just went unheard for years,” as written by All Music within the full star’s review. “Call it a welcome return instead, because the world of pop music always needs music this smart, tuneful, and unabashedly romantic.” Nick Heyward – as perfectly described by Louder Than War is still “a songwriter of the highest order.” UK TOUR 2018 MAY Thurs 24th BRIGHTON - Concorde 2 Fri 25th LONDON - O2 Academy Islington JUNE Fri 1st BIRMINGHAM - O2 Academy Sat 2nd LIVERPOOL - O2 Academy Thurs 7th GLASGOW - Òran Mór Fri 8th SHEFFIELD - O2 Academy Fri 15th OXFORD - O2 Academy Thurs 21st CARDIFF - The Globe Fri 22nd STURMINSTER NEWTON - The Exchange Thurs 28th BATH – Komedia Fri 29th EASTLEIGH - Concorde Club JULY Fri 6th MILTON KEYNES - The Stables NICKHEYWARD.COM, FACEBOOK, TWITTER Helsinki hardcore-punk squad Kohti Tuhoa stream the entirety of their highly anticipated second album, Pelon Neljäs Valtakunta, at heavily trafficked taste-makers Noisey - Music By Vice. The album was released in Europe last Friday via Svart Records, and is seeing North American release on November 24th via Southern Lord Recordings. Hear Kohti Tuhoa's Pelon Neljäs Valtakunta in its entirety exclusively HERE. Kohti Tuhoa's 2015-issued debut LP, Rutiinin Orja, was considered by many as the most exciting hardcore punk record out of Scandinavia in ages. Their sophomore album, Pelon Neljäs Valtakunta is constructed from similar building blocks of aggression aimed at sociopolitical injustice, but with the band's sound taking a step further towards genre classicists such as Discharge and Disorder, not to mention classic Finnish hardcore-punk acts such as Terveet Kädet, Varaus, and Riistetyt. Recorded in May 2017 at V.R. Studio in Turku, Finland, Pelon Neljäs Valtakunta was engineered by Jussi Vuola, mixed by Jussi Vuola and Kohti Tuhoa, mastered and cut by Jukka Sarapää at Timmion Cutting, and finalized with artwork by returning artist Jaakko Karjula. The album crushes 12 relentless tracks in 20 minutes, including a cover of "Saatanan Lampaat" by Painajainen.
