Beginning what promises to be an unforgettable summer, Sabrina Carpenter shares a new single entitled “Vicious” today.
Additionally, she reveals the details for the release of her anxiously awaited fifth full-length album and Island Records debut, Emails I Can’t Send, arriving on July 15, 2022. Check out the cover art below! Pre-order / pre-save--HERE. “Vicious” offers a glimpse of the ultra-personal song-writing and passionate, palpable, and powerful performances at the heart of the record. On the track, acoustic guitar underlines her intimate intonation as the beat gives way to an emotionally charged refrain, “Oh, you’re so vicious, love me then pretend you didn’t. Half of me just can’t resist it. Why you gotta be so vicious?” It culminates on a robust guitar lead, while she engages a stream-of-consciousness-style vocal barrage topped off with a scream. “Vicious” channels nineties pop-rock songcraft with an intoxicating dose of 21st century feels. About “Vicious,” she revealed:- “Sonically, you’re able to hear me really closely, and it’s almost like I’m narrating the story to you,” she elaborates. “This song is really narrative and personal. It’s as if I’m having a conversation. We’ve all had experiences with people we love so deeply who turn out to be different than we thought they were. It’s a really painful realization to come to terms with. A lot of times, we focus on the other side of the healing process and fail to own up to uncomfortable feelings like anger and resentment. I don’t touch on that side of myself too often, but it’s a huge part of my story over the past couple of years, so I thought it was important to start there on ‘Vicious’.” It arrives on the heels of her most recent single “Fast Times.” In addition to tallying over 12 million Spotify streams and 5.5 million YouTube views on the music video, it instantly incited tastemaker applause. Rolling Stone hailed it as a “sexy, playful pop song” and one of “The Best Songs of 2022,” and fans voted it Billboard’s “Favorite New Music” upon release. Redbrick promised, “She aims to deliver something deeper and more meaningful on her new album,” and Bustle summed it up best as “boppy.” Recently, she made headlines by starring in EMERGENCY, which premiered at the 2022 Sundance Film Festival. She appeared as a guest on the Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to discuss the movie as well as more upcoming music. Watch it HERE. Sabrina closed out 2021 with the single “Skinny Dipping.” Right out of the gate, it earned widespread tastemaker praise. Billboard described it as a “impressive vocal take from Carpenter” and said it’s “a natural fit for her as a singer and storyteller, as she lays down track for an adult music career.” “Skinny Dipping” followed the runaway success of “Skin.” The latter has gathered over 123 million Spotify streams and 26 million YouTube views on the music video to date. Upon arrival, it overtook the internet, trending at #1 on Twitter worldwide. It also marked her first Billboard Hot 100 hit in addition to receiving widespread acclaim. Billboard hailed it as “hitting that sweet spot between raw writing and grandiose production, resulting in an enthralling listen.” Meanwhile, Thomas Bleach applauded it as “an immediately addictive track that will simultaneously get stuck in your head, and have you thinking ‘damn, girl!’.” She also just launched her first fragrance in partnership with Scent Beauty, the world’s first multi-brand e-commerce platform for bespoke fragrances, which offer unique, culturally relevant fragrances to consumers worldwide. Inspired by Sabrina’s love of desserts, “Sweet Tooth” by Sabrina Carpenter Eau de Parfum indulges the sweet tooth with a fragrance good enough to eat. The scent is sweet, yet sophisticated and reminiscent of the irresistible joy of a candy shop, filled with creamy chocolate, pops of colour, swirls, and sweets. The gourmand fragrance, developed in partnership with Firmenich, features notes of chocolate marshmallow, vanilla, Chantilly cream, and sugared musk's. Sweet and petite, the bottle is modelled from the shape of a chocolate bar but reinvented in faceted glass with tones of pink and rose gold. The bottle sparkles with delight and becomes an art piece for all to unwrap and experience. The Discovery Size fragrance is available now at ScentBeauty.com, with the full-size Eau de Parfum to follow in September. Sabrina's Island Records debut album arrives July 15th. Atlanta-based pop / rock band, Glimmers, share their brand new single, “Scared To Lose,” out now via Common Ground Collective. With this single, the band kicks off a brand new era of music. “Scared To Lose” mixes the band’s love of melodic piano and hopelessly romantic lyrics. Alongside the track, the band also shares the first of a collection of cinematic music videos that follow the journey of finding yourself as you go through the ups and downs of a relationship. Listen to “Scared To Lose” now HERE and watch the video HERE. About the song, lead singer, Maggie Schneider says:- “It’s about being in a situationship - the kind of relationship without a label. While the feelings are reciprocated, the idea of expressing the words out loud is terrifying. I have had my own experiences of being afraid to fall in love, while also being scared to miss out on something special. It is a catch 22.” Over Memorial Day weekend, Glimmers made their debut at So What?! Music Festival in Dallas, TX, playing to a packed crowd at the Idobi Radio Stage. In early 2020, five friends who’d been playing music together since the summer of 2019 decided to put a fresh stamp on their collective, Glimmers. Meeting separately but all through mutual friends, the five members of glimmers formed as the backing band of Atlanta artist Maggie Schneider – but what started as a backing band quickly became a family. The band introduced itself to the world through two complementary EPs, "Cluttered Heart" and "Worlds Apart". Releasing standout singles like “For Me It’s You” and “Not Good At Goodbyes”, both projects encapsulate the feeling of being the main character in a coming-of-age movie. The songs garnered positive attention from outlets like Alternative Press, Emo Nite, and Hot Topic. Now, Glimmers is ready to share the newest iteration of their sound. The pop / rock group’s new music is influenced by the song writing of Mayday Parade, Julia Michaels, and The Band Camino. Get ready for a new and honest chapter about the games we play in our relationships. Glimmers is about connection—whether it be the friendship of the bandmates or the intimate connection felt between the band and their fans at a live show. Stay tuned for more news and music from Glimmers coming soon!
NJ punk band Pollyanna is facing down their anxieties in new single and music video “Relationship Anxiety,” out now here: https://orcd.co/pollyannarelationshipanxiety. The aggressive new track follows previous singles “SLUT,” “Mars,” and “Pathetic.” All three can be found on Pollyanna’s forthcoming album Slime, set to be released on June 17th via I Surrender Records. On the new single, vocalist Jill Beckett (she/they) shares: “’Relationship Anxiety’ is definitely a telling title for what it’s about, but this song actually goes in depth for so much more. For most of my life, I constantly felt anxious at the thought of going into a relationship means you have to make sacrifices to have it work and you can’t ever think about anyone romantically or physically ever again. And that was a constant fear of mine. Not only that but we put so much expectations on ourselves, of when we should be single and when we shouldn’t. For awhile, I had so much fear of going into a relationship because I thought my lifestyle would have to change and I thought that this period of time I should remain single which is in my opinion a false narrative to have. This song is basically about coming to terms with being polyamorous and being able to feel love for multiple people while also having an anxiety that because of that, I would never be in a happy relationship with someone.” Fans can expect more music soon, and look forward to seeing new songs live later this year as Pollyanna hits the road with Forever Came Calling.
Pollyanna is a four piece band from New Jersey composed of lead vocalist and guitarist Jill Beckett, percussionist Daniel McCool, bassist Brandon Bolton, and guitarist Jack Rose. With sounds of power-pop, loud rock, bubble grunge, and punk influences, their name is directly derived from the dictionary definition, “to be unreasonably or illogically optimistic” - perfectly describing front-person Jill Beckett’s ‘stuck in 2017’ incredibly optimistic attitude. After meeting in the first grade, Dan and Jill started the band at just 13 years old, eager to create and play music that would reach audiences beyond the confines of Jill’s open garage doors. Brandon made them a trio in early 2019, bringing 90’s femme punk influence to the group. At the start of 2021, Jack completed the bands’ line up, adding his elemental stabbing guitars and love for shoegaze and metal into the mix. After completing almost 5 tours around the east coast and the Midwest, Pollyanna has won over a following in the New Jersey music scene along with cities in the tri-state and beyond. They plan on leaving a unique mark in the music industry. For more Information, please visit:

Bassist (and songwriter) Mike Natoli says:- "I had just moved back to my hometown and got reluctantly dragged to my 10-year high school reunion. While I wasn’t necessarily questioning myself, it still managed to stir up some weird thoughts and feelings about what I was doing with my life. I wanted to write about the subject from the reverse perspective of “A Plea From A Cat Named Virtute” by The Weakerthans and make it a proposition to my golden retriever Buddy. This wild idea that we could trade lives and he could go out on my adventures while I got to blend in with the scenery and not talk to anyone was something that seemed mutually beneficial." Mt. Joy have released their new single "Bathroom Light", check it out below along with Matt's comments about the new track. The band's new album "Orange Blood" is out 17th June. "We all have a perfect expectation of how life should be. My girlfriend and I met on Instagram, and whenever I would explain that to people it made me feel like we did it wrong. Like it didn’t fit ‘the narrative.’ As we were recording, there was an untimely death of a family member in our crew. It was horribly sad and gave me that sinking reminder of how fragile everything we build is. ‘Bathroom Light’ is about chasing love however it comes into your life and working to make those around you feel comfortable in their skin. We all have crazy stories, and for the most part there is just no time to be ashamed of them." – Matt Quinn
Mt. Joy's 5 month, 37 city North American headline tour is to kick off 16th June. Go to http://www.mtjoyband.com/tour for more info on tickets. The Philadelphia quintet—Matt Quinn [vocals, guitar], Sam Cooper [guitar], Sotiris Eliopoulos [drums], Jackie Miclau [keys, piano], and Michael Byrnes [bass]— take their name from the quiet rural town in southwest Pennsylvania, about four hours from their Philadelphia base. Forming in 2016, they made their mark two years later when their self-titled Mt. Joy debut album spun off "Silver Lining," an uplifting power ballad that went to #1 at AAA radio (Billboard Adult Alternative Airplay) and has eclipsed over 120 million Spotify streams to date. Their second album, Rearrange Us (2018) drew widespread critical raves. Over the past four years Mt. Joy has amassed over half a billion streams and have earned acclaim from NPR, Billboard, Rolling Stone, The Line of Best Fit, and more. The band has performed at a variety of festivals such as Lollapalooza, Austin City Limits, Bonnaroo and has toured with The Lumineers, Rainbow Kitten Surprise, The Revivalists, and The Head and The Heart. Additionally, the band has performed on Stephen Colbert, CBS Morning, Samantha Bee, Seth Meyers, Jimmy Kimmel, and Conan. Kicking off their forthcoming album Orange Blood, Mt. Joy has released a string of singles including “Lemon Tree” which was hailed as “a next-level song” by NPR and is currently Top 20 at AAA radio, followed by the colorful album title track, “Orange Blood," "Evergreen," and now, "Bathroom Light." INSTAGRAM | FACEBOOK | TWITTER New Orleans-based singer-songwriter Julie Odell announces her signing to the venerable Frenchkiss Records (Diet Cig / Eleanor Friedberger), and shares her first single for the label. 'Caterpillar' serves as a great example of her unique attention to detail, the way her songs beautifully morph, with varying tempos, vocal deliveries, and noise levels, and keyboard flourishes and guitar strums that twinkle so artfully and subtly that they feel like brushstrokes. Odell has only released one single prior to being discovered by Frenchkiss. On 'Caterpillar', Odell says:- "Caterpillar is about the transformative courage it takes to step into the unknown. It’s about life’s inevitable change and the change that we choose. It’s all a free fall of hoping and trusting that there will be something to grab onto before you land on your face. Navigating the emotional path of worry, doubt, fear, excitement, discovery, joy, peace and all the adrenaline in between" Of the new signing, Syd Butler of the label explains:- “Julie is a rare find in the music world. Her unique voice, inspirational approach to writing and creative vision transport you to an intimate world ripe with what is possible.”
Her music is folky, dreamy, and soulful, marked by her powerful, peculiar vocals, detailed textures, and an instinct for immediate songcraft. Her songs are complex and multifaceted, in part because they don’t follow expected trajectories or settle into long stretches of even-keeled languor. “Internally I always feel either really chaotic or really calm,” Odell says. “So, it's a lot of really loud, fast-paced stuff, and then it'll shrink down to really quiet delicate things. I'm obsessed with dynamics.” Odell wanted to be a meteorologist when she was a kid, chasing tornadoes in a van with all her friends. Although she chose a life as an artist instead, she reckons she’s chasing musical tornadoes, since her songs are wispy, unpredictable beasts. Odell’s mother is a painter, and her father is a potter, and she spent much of her childhood in the back of a van, trekking to art festivals and craft fairs for months at a time with her parents, which was how they made a living. She was surrounded by artists and their art for her whole life, so it was only a matter of time before she started making her own art. After she began writing songs on the family upright piano and performing at open mic nights, she played “dainty piano waltzes” as an opening act for hardcore shows in South Louisiana. Then she formed a psychedelic folk-rock band called Giant Cloud, who toured frequently and released an album on Park The Van, before writing and performing music under her own name. Listening to her music feels like you’re sitting in Odell’s family van, absorbing delightful new landscapes through the window every few minutes, and you’ll never want the gorgeous fever dream to end. Julie Odell will release her debut album via FrenchKiss, with more news to follow on that shortly. Instagram @leannrimes https://leannrimes.com/ Echo Park, California based Psych-Rock outfit The Natural Supernatural release their new song "Waiting". "Waiting" is the story of a young man lost on one side of an impenetrable window desperate for both the beauty and surreal farce of connection. "Waiting" was born in the heavy lidded dream world of so many nights, coalescing like a scum above a Lazarus pit of sugary neon. Reflective but warped, it can be the gaudiest parts of loneliness, the most narcissistic but also the most vulnerable and honest. Sean Fortier explains what inspired The Natural Supernatural to write "Waiting":- "It began as a whim, I wanted to write a funky bassline on a tuned down guitar.. But very quickly the echoes of my lost nights began to reach out, in, and take control. The song itself became an avatar, and when the guitar comes in heavy, Waiting manifests itself as its true purpose.. As a totem forcing acknowledgement from the other side of the window. Simple but enduring." "Waiting" is out now and can be heard HERE https://thenaturalsupernatural... Iconic rock band Papa Roach have shared their new rock single “Dying To Believe.” The song, produced by WZRD BLD aka Drew Fulk (Ice Nine Kills, Motionless In White, Bullet For My Valentine) is a call for human unity and harmony, despite any differences people have. On their new single singer Jacoby Shaddix shares:- “In the process of making this record, we always try to make music that means something to us, that moves us. When I look out into the world right now a lot of people are divided. The beautiful thing about music is it’s a unifier. I wanted to make a song that has some hope in it.” Shaddix’s signature vocals soar over anthemic choruses and heavy instrumentals in a dynamic call to arms. Fans can stream the new song at https://papa-roach.ffm.to/dyingtobelieve. Also, by posting a cryptic video featuring the three band’s names placed on a marquee, Papa Roach have teased a to-be-announced tour featuring Hollywood Undead and Bad Wolves. “Dying To Believe” joins recently released singles including the powerful and anthemic “Kill The Noise” and the genre-bending banger of a single “Swerve” featuring Jason Aalon Butler (Fever 333) and Sueco. The “sizzling new track” according to Wonderland Magazine was heralded as one of the “Best Releases of August” by Loudwire and was added to marquee playlists including “Rock This” and “New Music Friday” on Spotify as well as “Breaking Hard Rock” and “New Music Daily” on Apple Music. These new tracks are pulled from Papa Roach’s forthcoming new album, expected out in 2022 via their own label, “New Noize Records,” a second incarnation of their early 2000’s label enterprise in partnership with ADA Worldwide (WMG’s independent label and artist services arm).
