Following a successful and critically acclaimed run at the Edinburgh Festival, Susie McCabe is back at The King’s Theatre in Glasgow for its International Comedy Festival – after a blistering 2022. On the back of her TV debuts on Have I Got News for You, Frankie Boyle’s New World Order and Question Time, Susie also had a sell-out Edinburgh Fringe run and supported Kevin Bridges, Frankie Boyle and Jason Manford on their tours. Now she is back with her BRAND NEW show, Femme Fatality. Susie's last show, Born Believer, sold out the King's Theatre and this show is set to be another barnstormer of an evening! With her razor-sharp punchlines she is currently “the best storytelling comic in the UK right now” (The List) and this will be a show not to be missed, by the fastest-selling act of the GICF for three years running. Following an acclaimed, sell-out run at this year’s Edinburgh Festival, Marcus hits the road with his new show Absolute Shower, celebrating the personal triumphs, small victories and joyful failures of the past couple of years, while acknowledging it has for many of us been an absolute shower of s***. A few things have changed. He’s become a father, again, 19 years after becoming a Dad for the first time. He’s graduated as a Level 1 Cheese Master. He’s experienced the agonies of bereavement. He’s learned to play the trumpet to a very very poor level. He’s made a deep connection with his neighbours. They speak some actual sentences now as well as nodding courteously. He ‘broke through’ on US TV after his and Rachel Parris’ ludicrous Lip Sync Battles exploded online, and even more than ever he feels sure that the right combination of jokes will lead to a change in government. Marcus Brigstocke is regarded as a major comedy, writing and acting talent, performing stand-up to sell-out audiences on nationwide tours. Yet BBC Radio 4 has become somewhat of a second home to him, with regular appearances on I’m Sorry I Haven’t A Clue, The Unbelievable Truth, The Now Show and Just A Minute, and he has written and recorded five series of his hit show Giles Wemmbley-Hogg Goes Off and The Brig Society. He also wrote and directed the award winning play The Red, and co-starred alongside Kerry Godliman in The Wilsons Save The World. Marcus has notched up an impressive list of TV credits, most recently as a regular host on Steph’s Packed Lunch (Ch4). His stand-up special Devil May Care, recorded live at Wilton’s Music Hall, is now on Amazon Prime Video. He’s been on Live At The Apollo (BBC1), Have I Got News For You (BBC1), Mock the Week (BBC2), QI (BBC2) and Sorry I’ve Got No Head (BBC1), he hosted The Late Edition and I’ve Never Seen Star Wars (BBC4), and was a team captain on Argumental (Dave), as well as making it to the final of the infamous winter sports show The Jump (Ch4). This tour already has more than 100 venues to visit! And it reaches London's Leicester Square Theatre on Thursday, 16th June. Does life ever become overwhelming? Do you bemoan the stresses and strains of parenthood, a busy career, the rat race or everyday existence? Well, imagine having all that but being blind too. Chris McCausland is that man. Fresh from recording his own huge Friday night entertainment show with Big Narstie for Channel 4 and racking up over 11 million hits to date of his set on The Russell Howard Hour for Sky One, comedy’s brightest new star, Mo Gilligan, steps out this month to continue on his own 42 date UK tour, including an astonishing 22 sold out dates at London’s Leicester Square Theatre. Mo first made his name as a stand up on the black comedy circuit, regularly playing iconic venues such as The Hackney Empire, O2 & Bloomsbury Theatre. The show combines Mo’s trademark everyman style, with high-energy routines and astute comedic observations. He’s already collaborated with the likes of The BET Awards in Los Angeles, appeared as a brand ambassador for Adidas alongside Stormzy, sent Instagram into a meltdown when international superstar Drake quoted one of his catchphrases, hosted Tinie Tempah’s Ibiza closing party performing to over 10,000 people and has consistently hit well over a million views for every new sketch offering he has released via social media. Its leaders are Gwyneth Paltrow, Deliciously Ella and Belle Gibson. #Wellness is the millennial religion. And when January comes round, it means you simply must cleanse, detox, sweat… do everything you can to become part of the movement. What happens though if wellness starts making us sick? In an autobiographical story about #empowerment and crippling insecurity, #fitspiration and fragile bones, #superfoodsmoothies and so much debt, Daniella Isaacs peels back the Instagram filter to reveal the dirty truth behind clean living. Aged 24, Daniella joined the cult of contemporary wellness. She spiralised courgettes, saluted the sun, and came out top in spinning class. She even ghost-wrote for some of the world’s most well-known wellness brands. But it’s been two years since Daniella’s last period. Her bones are disintegrating, hairs are springing up in all the wrong places, and her anxiety is sky-rocketing. The doctors are saying her lifestyle is responsible. In a clean-living obsessed world, what does wellness even mean? Daniella said:- “I felt lost and overwhelmed, and with the help of social media, I found the wellness world, which offered easy answers. I followed endless recipes promising positivity, empowerment and insta-worthy abs. But clean living couldn’t cure my anxiety. If anything, it made it so much worse. From the front line of wellness, I can tell you that taut abs and glowy skin don’t bring you happiness and gluten-dairy-sugar-free bliss balls definitely don’t lead you down the path to enlightenment. I know I’m not alone in this wellness obsession, and I want this show to provide an antidote to the squeaky clean social media feeds which brush the complexities of human existence under yoga mats and crisp, white table cloths.” Hear Me Raw is a darkly comic, genre-bending new play about restriction, control and too much turmeric. The show also sheds light on ‘Orthorexia nervosa’, an eating disorder characterised by an unhealthy obsession with healthy eating. It is yet to be recognized by official medical bodies. It’s time to redefine what wellness really means. Hear Me Raw is from LIPSINK, the company behind irreverent intermarriage comedy Mush and Me, the winner of the 2014 IdeasTap Underbelly Award & the Holden Street Adelaide Fringe Award. LIPSINK is Rosy Banham and Daniella Isaacs’s creative partnership. www.lipsinktheatre.com Facebook + Twitter: @LipsinkTheatre Instagram: @DaniellaIsaacs www.lipsinktheatre.com Running Time: 60 minutes | Suitable for ages 12+ Milton Jones – star of Mock The Week (BBC Two), Live at the Apollo (BBC One) and Live at the Palladium (ITV) – is delighted to announce an extension to his existing UK tour, with an additional 48 dates added to cater to phenomenal demand. The tour began in Richmond on 22nd September 2017 and will now take in 109 dates in total, with tickets for the extra shows going on sale at 10am on www.ticketmaster.co.uk. Milton Jones is Out There is a manifesto of nonsense and the perfect antidote to the world's troubles. If this master of the one-liner was running for Prime Minister, would the world be a worse place? The answer is a unanimous yes, but don't let that put you off. Milton will be holding up the mirror of truth to society, and he can see right through it, which probably means it's just a window. He'll also be putting his foot down and lifting the lid on the media's pedal bin of lies (which doesn't include this press release of course). This is family-friendly, finely-crafted comedy at its best from one of the legends of the UK comedy scene. Milton Jones says: "I’m not stupid. This tour extension proves that I know Britain, and that its true king will continue to meet his subjects in cognito. Which I think is near Leicester." Milton is one of the UK's best-loved and biggest-selling stand-ups, with his last two tours each seeing him perform to more than 100,000 people. He made his comedy debut in 1996, scooping the prestigious Perrier Best Newcomer Award, and he has since become a mainstay of the UK comedy scene. He is a regular face on TV such as Mock The Week, Live at the Apollo, Live at the Palladium and Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow, as well as being about to record a twelfth radio series for Radio 4. You can see all dates here:- http://miltonjones.com/live-dates/ Tickets for the Spring 2018 extension to Milton Jones is Out There go on sale on at 10am. Visit www.ticketmaster.co.uk to purchase. |
