Pop Icon Charli XCX drops the visuals to her party anthem 'Used To Know Me', directed by Alex Gill. ‘Used To Know Me’ is the catchy story of a post-breakup revival, and borrows from the 1990 house hit “Show Me Love” by Robin S. The video comes in to further extend the impressive visuals that Charli has delivered in this era with cohesion and consistency, under the creative direction of Imogene Strauss and Choreography from Nathan Kim. After releasing "Mild Safari", their debut single, Jaguero, the "supergroup" (consisting of members of Slander, Regarde, La Fortuna) release "Negative, Awesome!". The punk rock band from Vicenza (Italy) unveil another piece of the first EP, produced by Maurizio Baggio at La Distilleria in Bassano del Grappa, out in April on all digital platforms via Epidemic Records. The band says:- "“Negative, Awesome!” deals with the concept of balance: every day, we all face our commitments, our hobbies, our jobs, pretending that everything is ok and that this routine is fine for us. In reality, this is consuming us slowly, and we are so absorbed by this process that we are not able to wake up and realize it. It's okay to accept also the negative parts of ourselves, because they perfectly co-exists with the positive ones. This is just who we are: a complex spectrum that goes from a bright side to a darker one." Negative, Awesome! is out digitally, you can find it here: www.smarturl.com/JagueroNA You can follow Jaguero on social media to stay up to date on the band's activities and the EP release. Blossoms have revealed their brand-new single The Sulking Poet and its accompanying video, directed by Edwin Burdis, Arctic Monkeys’ Creative Director, who worked on the band’s Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino and AM albums. The Sulking Poet is the fourth song to be released from the band’s upcoming new album Ribbon Around The Bomb, following Care For, Ode To NYC and the album’s title track. Speaking about The Sulking Poet, Blossoms’ Tom Ogden says: ‘I once saw a Blossoms fan page describe me as ‘The Sulking Poet’ and I thought that was a great name for a song. I have been told that I need to smile more from time to time. This song touches on the imposter syndrome I’ve sometimes felt in the past. How did I get here? Do I deserve it? Should I be enjoying myself more?’ Blossoms’ new album is produced by their consistent and renowned collaborators James Skelly and Rich Turvey and revolves around a central character ‘The Writer’. Standout tracks on the record include Ode To NYC, described by Tom as ‘a love letter to my favourite city, as well as my wife’, The Writer which deals with the fear of and frustration associated with writers block and Everything About You, one of the album’s only love songs, which Tom says is ‘as honest as they come’. Visions meanwhile contains one of the album’s key lyrics ‘Was I complete at 23’, as Tom explains. ’At 23 I had just had a number 1 album and begun my relationship with my now wife Katie. Reflecting on what I’d achieved at such a young age left me wondering, what now?’ Blossoms are playing a series of live shows in the UK this summer, including an appearance at Glastonbury, as well as headline slots at Y Not? and Truck Festival and a run of support dates with The Killers. Full details on Blossoms live dates in 2022 are here. Blossoms brand-new single The Sulking Poet is out now and the band’s new album Ribbon Around The Bomb is released on 29th April. British rock icons Skunk Anansie have released the brand new video for their single ‘Can’t Take You Anywhere’. Filmed in the past week on tour in Spain and Portugal it gives fans a thrilling taste of the spectacular live show that Skunk Anansie are taking on the road. It also sees drummer Mark Richardson bring the Piggy character of their last single to life, in a humorously disturbing way. ‘Can’t Take You Anywhere’ is a deliciously sinister slice of tense drama, powered along by a roaring chorus. Channelling the same dark power as Depeche Mode and Placebo, with pummelling rhythms, twisted electronics and crystalline guitars, Skin tells the tale of a friend or lover causing chaos wherever they go. Skunk Anansie are currently on a massive European tour, featuring rescheduled dates from their hugely acclaimed 25th Anniversary tour, with new shows also added due to phenomenal demand. The band will also be appearing as part of the 2022 Meltdown Festival in June, which this year is curated by Grace Jones, along with a long-awaited return to Glastonbury Festival, where they famously headlined the Pyramid Stage in 1999. With a masterful blend of both English and Korean in its lyrics, the track is danceable yet delicate in its sound. “I don’t care what they say,” she sings confidently— unapologetic in her musical expression, a signature tenet of her artist persona. Multi-faceted global superstar, fashion icon and pride of South Korea, Lee Chae-rin (“CL”), exploded onto the k-pop scene at 17, frontwoman to the biggest k-pop girl group in the world, 2NE1. As writer and co-producer of the group’s 2014 hit album “Crush,” CL quickly distinguished herself as a promising versatile crossover artist, as the album went on to become the highest-charting and best-selling Korean album in US Billboard 200 history. Several sold out world tours later, CL (reverently called the “Queen of K-Pop”) embarked on a long-speculated solo career in 2016, marked by the release of her first smash single, “Lifted,” off her debut solo album: the single garnered over 33 million YouTube views and landed CL her US TV debut The Late Late Show with James Corden. After a three-year recording hiatus and show-stopping performance at the 2018 Winter Olympics Closing Ceremony, CL returned to the spotlight in 2019 with a gift for her eager fans: six new tracks under the title “In the Name of Love,” chronicling her more private years following the release of “Lifted.” The 2019 People’s Choice Award winner for “The Most Inspiring Asian Woman,” CL is also a two-time nominee for TIME Magazine’s “100 Most Influential People in the World,” and tied Hilary Clinton in votes in 2016. A genre-bending artist, she has collaborated with the American chart mainstays, the Black Eyed Peas and Lil Yachty, and performed with the likes of Skrillex and Diplo— electrifying their sets at Ultra Music Festival and Hard Summer. A creative mastermind and reinventor by nature, a new CL returned to the American music scene with a powerful performance back where it all began: The Late Late Show with James Corden, ahead of the releases of two brand new singles “HWA" and “5 STAR,” which have amassed over 36 million combined worldwide streams to date. This Fall, CL embarked on a brand new era with the release of wildly successful lead singles “SPICY” and “Lover Like Me” in anticipation of her full-length project. Now fresh out of the studio with a new vision ahead, CL’s long-awaited solo debut, ALPHA, is available everywhere you get your music. The album debuted at #3 on the U.S. iTunes charts and #1 on both the Pop and K-Pop charts—in addition to nabbing the #1 spot on iTunes overall Album Charts in 9 different countries. Proudly wearing the trailblazer label, she continues to pave the way for Asian women in music, utilizing her platform (12M combined) to empower them to push past cultural and industry barriers. CL can also be seen in Season 2 of the popular FX series, DAVE, which premiered this June 2021. For more on CL: Instagram | Twitter | Facebook James Blunt has released the hilarious video for his uplifting new song ‘Unstoppable’ - taken from his forthcoming greatest hits album, 'The Stars Beneath My Feet (2004-2021)’ - out November 19th on Atlantic Records. 17 years into his prolific career, ‘Unstoppable’ sees James delivering a phenomenal single for the post-Covid era; driven by a chorus that will no doubt find its home in the arenas on his tour next year, it’s set to quickly assert itself as a fan favourite. “It’s coming, it’s coming!” screams a man as the video opens with James and his one man band. Like a scene from a 50’s B movie horror film, people run for their lives, terrified of his music, with James blissfully unaware of the chaos he’s causing. Indicative of his triumphant career, he soon wins the world over, and the video, directed by illustrious film writer Jamie Thraves, comes to a joyous, celebratory end. “Be afraid…I am UNSTOPPABLE!” says James, and who are we to argue! Watch HERE. James will embark on a nine date UK arena tour for 2022 which will see him celebrate songs spanning a 17-year career that has spawned over 23 million album sales, a global smash hit with ‘You’re Beautiful’, two Brit Awards and two Ivor Novello Awards, as well as receiving five Grammy Award nominations. Amongst the string of hit singles, 'The Stars Beneath My Feet (2004-2021)’ will include four new songs (‘Love Under Pressure’, ‘Unstoppable’, ‘Adrenaline’ & ‘I Came For Love’), as well as four exclusive live performances from around the world, including the Glastonbury Festival. It also features stunning tracks from his latest Gold-selling album ‘Once Upon A Mind’, including ‘Cold’, and the heartbreaking ballad for his father, ‘Monster’. James’ classic 2004 debut album ‘Back To Bedlam’, was recently named as one of the top ten best selling albums of that decade, and with ‘Once Upon A Mind’, James Blunt reinforced his reputation for writing honest, emotional songs that people can easily relate to. The album marked a return to what James Blunt does best – writing classic songs that touch both the heart and the head. Another side of James - his wit and charm - have in recent times been showcased via his always engaging Twitter account. James Blunt plays the following 2022 UK arena dates: February 2022
https://www.jamesblunt.com/ American rapper Denzel Curry shares new single 'The Game' with video, out now on Loma Vista16/8/2021 Today, Denzel Curry returns to share a new song. The first new standalone single from Denzel in a year, 'The Game' finds him in peak form, assessing the current state of the rap game over Charlie Heat production. Whereas Denzel previously would have used this kind of opportunity to remind his peers of his technical prowess, 'The Game' sees him slow down his delivery so that the full effect of his bars can be felt.
The song arrives on the heels of it being announced as part of the Madden NFL 2022 soundtrack, marking the 4th year in a row that the soundtrack has featured a Denzel Curry single following 'Sumo', 'Shawshank' and 'Lemonade'. Most recently, Denzel connected with Robert Glasper for an exclusive Record Store Day release of their joint album Live From Leimert Park. He also appears on the new season of The Choe Show (Episode 3: "Just Us 3" with Will Arnett), and a new episode of Dave (FX) (Episode 207: "Ad Man"), out now. Nathan eventually reaches his home town of Airdrie, assembling a cast of his genuine family and friends to whom he performs an intimate gig. The new video marks Evans’ arrival: a transition from TikTok to international pop-stardom and is available to watch [HERE]. To celebrate the release of the video, Nathan says: “Thank you, guys, so much on all the support so far with Told You So It has been so overwhelming but also absolutely amazing. Some of the locations in the new music video are beautiful. We spent nearly a full day down by Loch Lomond and a place called Arrochar, and the footage just looks amazing. As breakout’s go, Nathan Evans’ is remarkable. Just six months ago, the 26-year-old was a Glasgow postman. Today, he’s a certified multi-platinum recording artist; the breakthrough British act behind the UK’s biggest selling domestic single of the year. Now signed to Polydor / Interscope, his second single released 25 June - “Told You So” – a sure fire soundtrack to the summer, set to become his next unstoppable anthem as lockdown lifts. Evans single-handedly captured the world’s attention with his masterful harmonies when he uploaded a traditional sea shanty to TikTok. Remixed by 220 KID & Billen Ted, it quickly became his debut single, Wellerman, which turned into an instant international sensation: topping the charts in ten countries while clocking up well over a staggering half a billion streams. “It’s like I’ve been standing in the middle of a tornado,” says Evans, “watching everything around me be thrown around. The last few months have been a dream, hearing my voice all over the globe. It’s been fun to ride the sea shanty wave, but I’ve spent years learning my craft as a musician. Now it’s time to share my own sound.” Now Evans is in the studio, working on his debut album, and this summer he’ll play a series of festivals before embarking on a 21-date European tour. |
