NJ punk band Pollyanna is facing down their anxieties in new single and music video “Relationship Anxiety,” out now here: https://orcd.co/pollyannarelationshipanxiety. The aggressive new track follows previous singles “SLUT,” “Mars,” and “Pathetic.” All three can be found on Pollyanna’s forthcoming album Slime, set to be released on June 17th via I Surrender Records. On the new single, vocalist Jill Beckett (she/they) shares: “’Relationship Anxiety’ is definitely a telling title for what it’s about, but this song actually goes in depth for so much more. For most of my life, I constantly felt anxious at the thought of going into a relationship means you have to make sacrifices to have it work and you can’t ever think about anyone romantically or physically ever again. And that was a constant fear of mine. Not only that but we put so much expectations on ourselves, of when we should be single and when we shouldn’t. For awhile, I had so much fear of going into a relationship because I thought my lifestyle would have to change and I thought that this period of time I should remain single which is in my opinion a false narrative to have. This song is basically about coming to terms with being polyamorous and being able to feel love for multiple people while also having an anxiety that because of that, I would never be in a happy relationship with someone.” Fans can expect more music soon, and look forward to seeing new songs live later this year as Pollyanna hits the road with Forever Came Calling.
Pollyanna is a four piece band from New Jersey composed of lead vocalist and guitarist Jill Beckett, percussionist Daniel McCool, bassist Brandon Bolton, and guitarist Jack Rose. With sounds of power-pop, loud rock, bubble grunge, and punk influences, their name is directly derived from the dictionary definition, “to be unreasonably or illogically optimistic” - perfectly describing front-person Jill Beckett’s ‘stuck in 2017’ incredibly optimistic attitude. After meeting in the first grade, Dan and Jill started the band at just 13 years old, eager to create and play music that would reach audiences beyond the confines of Jill’s open garage doors. Brandon made them a trio in early 2019, bringing 90’s femme punk influence to the group. At the start of 2021, Jack completed the bands’ line up, adding his elemental stabbing guitars and love for shoegaze and metal into the mix. After completing almost 5 tours around the east coast and the Midwest, Pollyanna has won over a following in the New Jersey music scene along with cities in the tri-state and beyond. They plan on leaving a unique mark in the music industry. For more Information, please visit:

Philadelphia's Hop Along return today with 'Prior Things', (listen here - https://youtu.be/6IbBU4QXxD4) the epic closer of their forthcoming new album Bark Your Head Off, Dog, which arrives April 6th on Saddle Creek. This comes after a triumphant SXSW, where the band debuted several new songs to enraptured fans and earned festival highlight accolades from Brooklyn Vegan, Mercury News, Stereogum - who called singer Frances Quinlan “a national treasure“ - and Rolling Stone who raved, “dexterous rhythms as their anchor gives Hop Along a kinetic kick that might not otherwise be heard in their delicate, nimble songs, and while that's enough to separate the band from their peers, the group is also fun to watch because there's a genuine warmth to their banter." Following lead single 'How Simple' and dynamic album cut 'Not Abel,' 'Prior Things' explores the bitter triumph of a relationship that never comes to be. The formidable 9-song collection is the band’s strongest and most cohesive album to date. Crafted by Frances Quinlan (songwriter, lead vocalist, and rhythm guitarist), Tyler Long (bass), Joe Reinhart (guitar), and Mark Quinlan (drums), the album considers what it’s like to cast off long-held and misguided perceptions, yet without the assurance of knowing what new ones will replace them. Quinlan has been meditating a lot on power. In this particular moment in history, this thought begs a greater question: what do we do with power and the men who so freely brandish it?
Self-produced and recorded at The Headroom in Philadelphia by Reinhart and Kyle Pulley, Bark Your Head Off, Dog features the familiar sounds that have always made the band allergic to genre: grunge, folk, punk, and power pop all appear, with inspiration from ELO to Elvis Costello to ‘70s girl group vocal arrangements. This time around, they’ve added strings, more intricate rhythms, lush harmonies (featuring Thin Lips’ Chrissy Tashjian), along with a momentary visit with a vocoder. In more than one place, Mark Quinlan drums like he’s at a disco with Built to Spill. Bark Your Head Off, Dog is, without question, Hop Along’s most dynamic and textured record yet.
