The Our Dementia Choir announce their first ever single release What’s Your Story?. Recorded at the world famous Abbey Road Studios, the track features vocals from all 16 of the choir members, is conducted by Mark De-Lisser and produced by Rik Simpson (Coldplay). What’s Your Story? is available to pre-save now via Decca Records. Our Dementia Choir Sings Again with Vicky McClure launches Monday 10th Oct at 9pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
Vicky McClure (Chair of the Our Dementia Choir charity) and the choir first performed “What’s your story?” at the Power of Music report launch event, hosted by Universal Music UK in King’s Cross on 20 April 2022. The report was co-written by Music for Dementia and UK Music. Vicky McClure (Chair of the Our Dementia Choir charity) says:- “I couldn’t be prouder of every single person who makes Our Dementia Choir what it is. Being able to record a song that gives voice to people living with dementia at the most famous recording studio in the world is an extraordinary achievement, and it’s made even more incredible when you think that the recording was made with people living with dementia. For me, this is the power of music in action and shows just what music can do for people with dementia and their carers when people are given access to it. People are more than their diagnosis. We hope ‘What’s your story’ inspires those living with dementia and those who care for them to know that music is there for them, and that music is a powerful tool they can use to support health and wellbeing. Please stream / download this song, tell friends and family about it! Let’s make some noise!!!” Grace Meadows (Campaign Director, Music for Dementia) says: “Music can have a transformative effect on people living with dementia and few things show the power of music in action better than Our Dementia Choir. It’s a fantastic achievement for the choir to have recorded a song at Abbey Road. It allows choir members to be seen beyond their diagnosis and as talented performers in their own right. Vicky and her remarkable choir have done a brilliant job of bringing the often ignored subject of dementia and its lack of care provision into our living rooms at home. This is why, in our Power of Music report, we called for want to see greater investment in grassroots services in people’s communities so everyone can have access to and experience the powerful health and wellbeing benefits of music. With this single release we hope the choir also managed to raise much needed money to help secure the choir’s future.” Music for Dementia will feature a list of dementia choirs and singing groups on their website for anyone that has seen Our Dementia Choir Sings Again with Vicky McClure and inspired to go along. Part 1 of Our Dementia Choir Sings Again with Vicky McClure will broadcast on BBC One and BBC iPlayer on Monday 10 October at 9pm and Part 2 on Monday 17 October at 9pm. Four years ago, Vicky McClure formed a choir of people living with dementia, scientifically proving the power of music and song to change the lives of those living with the condition. In the new series, Vicky and her dementia choir are back. And this time they want change. With the growing care crisis, and a lack of action from those in charge, Vicky is angry at the current system and wants to do something about it. And the place to start – making music therapy available to everyone with dementia. Our Dementia Choir Sings Again with Vicky McClure sees the choir and Vicky take matters into their own hands. Some of the members may have changed due to this cruel condition taking its toll, but old faces line up alongside new ones as they use their considerable voices to show those in power that music is vital for people living with dementia. But they need action now, and Vicky is using music to grab the attention of everyone she can. From being the first group of people with dementia to record and release a single at Abbey Road, to performing on-stage at a music festival beside an A-list artist, nothing and no-one will stand in the way of Vicky and the choir in getting their voices heard. Our Dementia Choir is a Nottingham based performing choir which supports and improves the lives of people living with dementia through the power of music. It is a registered charity and is chaired by Vicky McClure. Music for Dementia, founded and funded by The Utley Foundation, campaigns for people with dementia to have music as an integral part of their care whatever their circumstances. Working with over 200 cross sector organisations and groups, we are calling on the music industry, philanthropists, and the health and social care sectors to help make this possible. “100% of The Dementia Choir, Rik Simpson and Decca Records’ Net Revenue from audio streams of this Single and at least 45p per download sold of this Single will be donated to Our Dementia Choir (registered charity number: 1187483) which supports and improves the lives of people living with dementia through the power of music. “Net Revenue” means monies actually received by received by Decca Records in the United Kingdom with respect to the sales (including downloads and streaming) of this Single less the following deductions: (i) distribution fees; (ii) credits for returns; (iii) mechanicals; (iv) VAT and other applicable sales or withholding taxes.” FOLLOW OUR DEMENTIA CHOIR INSTAGRAM || FACEBOOK || TIKTOK || SITE FOLLOW MUSIC FOR DEMENTIA SITE || TWITTER || INSTAGRAM || FACEBOOK

The Grand Final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 will take place in the Liverpool Arena next to the River Mersey on Saturday 13 May with Semi-Finals on Tuesday 9 and Thursday 11 May. The BBC, together with the European Broadcasting Union (EBU), will organise the Contest in consultation with UA:PBC, Ukraine’s public broadcaster and last year’s winners of the Contest. Liverpool was chosen following a strong city bid process that examined facilities at the venue; the ability to accommodate thousands of visiting delegations, crew, fans and journalists; infrastructure; and the cultural offer of the Host City in reflecting Ukraine’s win in 2022. Eurovision Song Contest Executive Supervisor Martin Österdahl welcomed the news: ‘Liverpool is the ideal place to host the 67th Eurovision Song Contest on behalf of Ukraine. The city is synonymous with music and Liverpool Arena exceeds all the requirements needed to stage a global event of this scale. We have been very impressed with the passion the city has shown in embracing the Contest and their inclusive ideas for placing last year’s winners, Ukraine, front and centre when thousands of fans visit next May. This will be the first Eurovision Song Contest to be held in the UK in 25 years and, as we work with our Host Broadcaster, the BBC, to celebrate Ukraine’s victory, this unique production promises to be a very special one indeed.’ Read more here:- https://eurovision.tv/story/liverpool-will-host-eurovision-2023 Ahead of their massive shows with Liam Gallagher at Knebworth last weekend, Kasabian have dropped ’Chemicals’, the third track from their highly-anticipated new album "The Alchemist’s Euphoria", out August 5th on Columbia Records. A pulsating, guitar driven anthem and the last track the band recorded for the album, 'Chemicals' is an encompassing pop moment written by Serge Pizzorno and produced by Serge and Fraser T Smith, with mixing from Spike Stent. “It is me telling myself that it is going to be okay” Serge said of the track. “It was me seeing myself in those few weeks when everything kicked off. It's the future me saying to that person: 'This is shit, but don't worry, it will get better.’ So having a song about talking to yourself is universal, I think. We all have to find a way to deal with the complications, the mess and the mortality of life.” Listen to ‘CHEMICALS’ HERE. Of the new album Serge adds: “One thing about this record I feel over the other ones, is it definitely feels like a body of work that belongs together. It was a beautiful moment in mastering hearing it as a piece. I think it really holds up in our seven albums….The Magnificent Seven”. Known for their blistering live shows, Kasabian have announced a run of UK shows this Winter, including a date at London’s Alexandra Palace on 29th October. The band were also special guests to Liam Gallagher at Knebworth June 3rd and 4th and will headline the Isle of Wight June 18th. Pre-order The Alchemist’s Euphoria HERE for early access to tickets on June 8th at 9:30am. General tickets go on-sale June 10th at 9:30am HERE. Kasabian UK Dates: October 2022

www.kasabian.co.uk Fresh from the release of his recent single ‘How Are You Feeling?’, singer/songwriter George O’Hanlon returns with new song ‘Seagulls’. The title track from his forthcoming EP, out 13th May. ‘Seagulls’ is a particularly poignant song for George. Dealing with the subject of schoolyard alienation, the track is a heavy reflection (both sonically and thematically) on the feelings of isolation and confusion that can come to you at that delicate age when you’re first starting to express yourself. “Seagulls is a song I wrote reflecting on my time in school” George explains. “It’s a song for all the lonely, frustrated kids both past and present staring out the window.” Inspired by the likes of Bob Dylan, Jeff Buckley and Thom Yorke, O’Hanlon’s song writing is both literary and deeply personal, incorporating his own life experiences into his work while framing them from different perspectives. Over the last few years O’Hanlon has been refining his playing and song writing and is now ready to share his music with the world. Following a few early gigs on the college circuit, George expanded out into a series of shows at grassroots venues, adding additional players to his live show and honing his live performance. Last September George embarked on his first UK tour of small venues around the country with his band. "We spent hours with four of us crammed in a car with all our gear" George remembers of the tour. "The tough bits are service stations at 3 in in the morning and things like that but playing the shows made it all worth it" In 2022 George will be playing a variety of festivals including Liverpool Sound City, Eastbound Festival, The Great Escape, TRSMT and 110 Above. George will also be headlining a special show at the legendary Camden Assembly (formally the Barfly) on the 26th April. Live Dates

Recipients of Music Week’s prestigious Managers of the Year Award for two years running (2020, 2021) – TaP will be consultants on the project, and today call on the music industry to share experienced live performers for their consideration. The song performed at Eurovision will be released commercially through a partnership with a major label.
“We’re really excited to be teaming up with the BBC for this event and will use Eurovision to authentically reflect and celebrate the rich, diverse and world-class musical talent the UK is globally renowned for. For many years, we’ve witnessed the United Kingdom not doing as well as we would’ve liked, when pop music is something we usually excel at. The simple fact is it’s time to show what we can do and the wonderful musical talent we have - ultimately we can’t blame politics. It’s time for the UK to mirror the positive spirit of our European counterparts and really deliver the best of what we have to offer - we should unite as a country and champion talent representing our country on the global stage. Look at our wonderfully diverse and hugely successful talent across sport and entertainment - Dua Lipa, a British Kosovan is the number 1 female artist in the world right now, Emma Raducanu - a Brit of Chinese and Romanian heritage breaking incredible records in tennis, not to mention the British nations football teams representing so well at the Euros - all high profile examples reflecting today's modern, diverse British culture.”
“The UK is not lacking in talent. Talent has never been the issue. In fact we are overflowing with talent. Rather than viewing Eurovision as just a bit of fun, let's look at it for what it is; the world’s biggest live music event - 200 million viewers at last count, with an audience skewing younger each year. Win or lose or somewhere in between - we’re going to go for it. We really want the entire nation to get behind the UK Eurovision act like never before. As a team, we’re incredibly focused on finding a really special act that creates excitement for the UK - both in the build-up to the final and beyond.” TaP Music’s plan for the Eurovision campaign is to pull together an ‘A-Team’ committee of the best people in the music industry, spanning the country’s best artists, songwriters, creatives and media.
“Covering Eurovision for the BBC is one of my favourite times of the year. Hearing TaP’s vision to discover and showcase to the world the rich and diverse depth of musical talent that truly represents the UK at its best has got me even more excited for the 2022 contest than any year since I started in Düsseldorf in 2011.”
“As of today - we’d like to appeal to the entire music industry to send to us acts for consideration - we can promise to put the best possible team around them on all fronts to give them not just a wonderful opportunity at Eurovision but hopefully for a long career ahead.”
“I’m a proud Brit whilst also being a proud Kosovan… I’m happy to lend my manager to the cause… I’ll be cheering them on!”
“British pop music has led the world for seven decades now. The legacy and continued impact it has, makes it one of our Nation's greatest success stories. In a changing world, we must find new ways for it to continue to thrive. There aren't many televised events that are as big and genuinely global as Eurovision, so it's a wonderful opportunity for us to remind the world yet again of the depth and diversity of our talent. I can't wait to see what gems our friends at Tap Music will unearth”
“The Brits make fantastic pop music. Not only that, we invented it! Isn’t it about time we started showing the rest of Europe what we can do and put our best foot forward when it comes to Eurovision? We have so much to offer and I for one, am excited to see a British act at Eurovision that is going to make me and the whole country proud. With TAP at the helm next year, I’m sure that’s what's going to happen!” TaP was founded in 2010 by music lawyer Ben Mawson and manager Ed Millett. It has since expanded to over 40 people across offices in London, LA, Berlin and Sydney and offers a truly global focus for its clients. TaP Music incorporates management, publishing, records and studios and services include dedicated in-house marketing, A&R, studios and digital / social media personnel. Throughout all areas of the business, TaP’s success speaks for itself - named ‘Music Managers of the Year’ by Music Week two years in a row (2020, 2021) whilst also collecting Music Innovation of the Year (2021) for their record breaking live streams - TaP continue to break records with their roster of industry leading artists. Success includes Dua Lipa - the number 1 female artist in the world right now - amass 5x BRIT Awards and 3x GRAMMYs, reach in excess of 8 billion streams on Spotify alone, making her the most listened to British artist on the platform. Ellie Goulding - recognised as the 13th most played female artist of the 21st century - continues to drive real change globally as a UN Environment Ambassador whilst exceeding over 23 billion streams worldwide. TaP have managed the incomparable Lana Del Rey since the beginning of her career - totalling 28 billion streams to date, plus award recognition such as x2 BRIT Awards and x6 GRAMMY nominations. TaP Music launched not-for-profit arm TaP Futures in September 2020 - working alongside the music, fashion and sports industries to provide lasting change via increased access to employment opportunities for those currently under-represented within their chosen field. In addition to their ongoing success in music, TaP launched TaP Sports in 2020 - an athlete management and consultancy agency, representing those at the forefront of sport including Kalvin Phillips, David Alaba and Danny Welbeck across brand partnerships, publicity, social media and content creation. www.tap-music.com | Instagram | Twitter Fast rising pop prodigy Jamie Hannah has been busy working with Boy George on several songs and today releases his new single ‘House of Truth’. The duet with George received a premiere by PEOPLE magazine yesterday, who hailed it a “summer smash”. LISTEN HERE ‘House of Truth’ is a truly unique and infectious song; beginning with a soulful refrain and driving beat. Jamie and George take turns with the early verses which in turn build to a gospel infused crescendo. The full breadth and range of Jamie’s 4-octave spanning vocals are showcased as the duo are joined by a joyous gospel choir. “I am very lucky to have Boy George as a mentor. The whole process of making and recording the song and video with such an icon has been very surreal” says Hannah. Equal adoration beams from Boy George as he exclaims “Jamie is a Natural!” Jamie Hannah is a 22 year old British singer-songwriter with an extraordinary voice. His incredible vocal capabilities were honed at the Royal College of Music, where he trained in opera. Fusing this training with a variety of genres results in pop music with true passion, unlike anything else you’re likely to hear right now. His huge range and soaring falsetto makes ‘House of Truth’ one of the most affirming hits of the summer. ‘House of Truth’ follows this year’s earlier release ‘Sound of My Youth’, which was produced by notorious producer Benny D (Stormzy, Kylie Minogue). Since its release, Jamie has been gathering support from media the world over, as well as from some big celebrity stars including Oscar winner Dame Emma Thomson and Entertainment Presenter India Willoughby. Whilst supporting the track, Jamie has also been performing live throughout the country, most recently supporting Heather Small on the Voice of the M People Tour. Amber Arcades, the alias of Annelotte De Graaf, today shares a brand new track entitled “Goodnight Europe”, which is available now via Heavenly Recordings. This is the first music since the Dutch-born musician released her critically debut album Fading Lines in 2016 followed by the Cannonball EP last June. The track is available to stream and share via Spotify HERE. Annelotte said the following about the track: "I guess about half of it is me actually being worried about the current state of the Union. The other half is me kind of messing around with, and making fun of, this archetype of the tiresome existentialist academic in me." Also shared today is a short film directed by Elliott Arndt (http://www.elliottarndt.com/) starring Annelotte, which hints at upcoming news of a second album. This video is part 1 of 3 and features Amber Arcades’ new single, “Goodnight Europe”. Director Elliott Arndt says of the film: "A lot of the themes Annelotte wrote about for her record struck very close to home. What I found especially poignant in her lyrics is how it’s mostly through a study of herself and a nonchalant look outside her window that Annelotte makes us get a sense of the political turmoil that’s affecting her. In that respect, I was interested in trying to represent this sense of “banality” in a young adult couple in 2018, who are not only the fruit of a vibrant European Union, but also perhaps the ones most directly affected by its dismantling. I wanted to depict a static, homesick, glitchy romance. And here it is, trying all it can to grow against, amongst and beyond the constricting geographical barriers surrounding it.” Watch and share the short film HERE. Amber Arcades will also be performing live in the UK and Europe this summer with a London show at Omeara on June 7th 2018. Following the release of his critically acclaimed new album ‘Woodland Echoes’, Nick Heyward will release a new single ‘Perfect Sunday Sun’ on 17th November via his own label Gladsome Hawk. The “idyllic” track, as described by Uncut magazine, focuses on “my interpretation of indecision, idealism and havering - a kind of trilogy, like Krzysztof Kieślowski’s ‘Three Colours’ film series,” explains Nick. Its college rock choruses part away from the bucolic pop of the rest of the album, making the single into the perfect soundtrack of an endless English summer’s afternoon. Prior to his hugely successful and prolific solo career, Nick came to prominence as the frontman of percolating pop-funk new wave group Haircut 100, a foundational part of the 80s-pop explosion. They released four UK Top 10 hit singles, with their debut album ‘Pelican West’ reaching no. 2 in the UK album charts, no. 31 in USA’s Billboard 200, and ending up being certified platinum by BPI, with Nick gracing the cover of pacesetting style magazine The Face. Entering as the highest new entry at No. 4 in the Official Independent UK Albums chart, ‘Woodland Echoes’ has seen support across the board with positive reviews from the most credible music publications including; The Observer, Sunday Times Culture, Mojo, Uncut, Classic Pop and Record Collector, while previous singles have been supported by Sarah Cox and Vanessa Feltz on BBC Radio 2, Gary Crowley on BBC London - who made ‘Baby Blue Sky’ his ‘Record of the Week’ – as well as Loose Ends on BBC Radio 4 and BBC London’s Robert Elms. Having already appeared on TV shows including Lorraine, London Live and BBC Red Button, Nick will perform for BBC 1 Children in Need at Wembley Arena in November, and is co-starring in an upcoming Channel 5 show which will see the singer songwriter tour the UK in a camper van in a show called ‘Celebrity Motor Homes’ alongside celebrities such as Lesley Joseph, Melvin Hayes and Cleo Rocos. With his recent solo set at this year’s Great Escape Festival praised by Drowned In Sound as “one of the finest we heard all weekend, his second coming is imminent” and his recent full band headline show at 229 received rave reviews by the likes of Metro, Nick is set to return to the live circuit with a full UK tour in Spring 2018. His first record in 18 years “can't be called a return to form for Heyward because he never lost his form; it just went unheard for years,” as written by All Music within the full star’s review. “Call it a welcome return instead, because the world of pop music always needs music this smart, tuneful, and unabashedly romantic.” Nick Heyward – as perfectly described by Louder Than War is still “a songwriter of the highest order.” UK TOUR 2018 MAY Thurs 24th BRIGHTON - Concorde 2 Fri 25th LONDON - O2 Academy Islington JUNE Fri 1st BIRMINGHAM - O2 Academy Sat 2nd LIVERPOOL - O2 Academy Thurs 7th GLASGOW - Òran Mór Fri 8th SHEFFIELD - O2 Academy Fri 15th OXFORD - O2 Academy Thurs 21st CARDIFF - The Globe Fri 22nd STURMINSTER NEWTON - The Exchange Thurs 28th BATH – Komedia Fri 29th EASTLEIGH - Concorde Club JULY Fri 6th MILTON KEYNES - The Stables NICKHEYWARD.COM, FACEBOOK, TWITTER Anton Du Beke will release his much-anticipated debut album From The Top on November 24th through Polydor. One of the nation's best-loved stars and most well-known as the celebrated ballroom dancer of Strictly Come Dancing, Anton was a key player in the phenomenon that brought dancing not only back in favour, but onto prime time ratings-topping television, entertaining 11 million+ audiences since 2004. From The Top will feature the classic songs which have inspired him throughout his illustrious career. “I’ve been singing for almost as long as I’ve been dancing," says Anton. "I’ve sung at my dance shows and I’ve sung on Strictly but I never believed I would finally get the chance to make an album." From The Top sees Anton backed by the successful vocal harmony quintet The Overtones and Lance Ellington from the Strictly Come Dancing band. The album is a joyful celebration of pure old school swing. From The Top is a tribute to both his beloved wife Hannah and his close friend, the late Bruce Forsyth. “Bruce was always a huge hero of mine and I was lucky enough to call him a friend. We’d play golf, we’d have a laugh and we both loved all the old stars like Fred Astaire and Sammy Davis Jnr. He was so supportive. When I did a tiny show at the Hippodrome in London, he did me the greatest honour by coming down and singing with me.”
One of the songs they sang – Me And My Shadow – is featured on the album alongside other crooning greats including Putting On The Ritz, It Had To Be You, Fly Me To The Moon and Something Stupid. “All these songs are hugely emotional to me,” says Anton. The album also includes an inspired reworking of the Arctic Monkeys hit I Bet You Look Good On The Dancefloor and an original composition Nothing But Love. Grammy award-winning producer, Brian Rawlings (Tina Turner, Enrique Inglesias and One Direction) collaborated with Anton to create a unique big band sound. For Anton, the album is a lifelong dream come true. “I spent my twenties and thirties penniless with just a lot of dreams. This album is for everyone who loves swing, who loves romance and who believes dreams come true.” Album pre-order link - https://antondubeke.lnk.to/FromTheTop |
