The film is set for release in 2023- the 50th anniversary of Coward’s death. Belgian pop star Angèle releases her powerful new single “Amour, Haine et Danger” today via Island Records. The song, which explores the daily mental toll that using our phones takes, arrives with a video directed by Brice VDH, who previously worked with Angèle on her Netflix Documentary. About the video and the idea behind the new single, Angèle says “From the writing to the words to the story, I imagined what it would be like if my phone became giant and took up too much space in the studio, just like it does in real life. Brice VDH and I had fun imagining scenes of daily life that would tell the story of our addiction to mobile phones. We have an absolute trust in an object which brings us as many problems as it does wonderful things. Brice had the idea to make us hold hands with the actors to show the all-encompassing influence this basic everyday object has on us.” LISTEN HERE I WATCH VIDEO HERE The release of “Amour, Haine et Danger,” comes alongside the exciting announcement of Angèle’s first ever UK headline show at the O2 Academy Brixton on May 23rd as part of her Nonante-Cinq Tour - tickets here. The show follows her previous trip to the UK where she supported Dua Lipa as part of the ‘Future Nostalgia’ tour, opening two sold-out nights at London’s The O2. The pair previously collaborated on the insatiable dance-pop track "Fever." Angele will also be heading stateside next year, headlining Terminal 5 in NYC on May 5th. Angèle has collaborated with the French luxury fashion house CHANEL for all of her stage clothes for the tour, some of which are inspired by the CHANEL Spring-Summer 1995 Ready-to-Wear collection, Angèle’s year of birth. It is the first time CHANEL designed bespoke outfits for an artist. Angèle is the face of Chanel's 2021 Eye Makeup Collection and has been a CHANEL ambassador since 2020. Angèle creates her own sounds and hones a graphic feel that mirrors her own personal style: hard-hitting and direct. She set up her own label (Angèle VL) and is a spokeswoman for her generation. A feminist, fluid and all-encompassing artist working in a world in which musical genres are a distant memory. Pop, rap and electro are all thrown into her musical blender. Her breakout debut album Brol (2018, 1.8M sold worldwide including 600,000 outside of France, 2,7 billion streams globally) made her an instant, fresh Francophone star. Her latest album, ‘Nonante-Cinq’ sold more than 430,000 copies and counts more than 473 million streams globally. SPOTIFY I YOUTUBE I INSTAGRAM I TWITTER 21-year-old alt-pop singer songwriter Poutyface returns with her new single “Peter Pan” out now via Island Records. The track is a hyper-pop punk waltz, lyrically calling out sub-par suitors that refuse to grow up. Of the track, Poutyface says: “My friends and I wrote this song as a reality check for myself and all the other young women who have once been hopelessly infatuated with men who masquerade as our alternative wet dream. We got to talking about how red flags are often dressed up as green lights. This song is packed full of irony and clichés. It’s a social commentary on THE Prototype. We all know him, and being a little older and wiser now, I can confidently say: the boy who never grew up is not the man you want.” “Peter Pan” follows “Rag Doll” ft. K.Flay and comes on the heels of a memorable year, having just wrapped up her opening slot on the Yungblud’s Life On Mars tour, and releasing “Cherry Picking.” She is also gearing up to join Gayle on her US tour with more new music coming soon. Her releases “Never Fuckin Know,” “FBoys Anonymous,” “Cherry Picking,” and “Rag Doll” are catchy, nostalgic tracks reminiscent of late 90s / early 2000’s rock music. Her presence on the song writing app VOISEY sparked a loyal fanbase that eventually led to the self-released song “Deathwish” which garnered critical acclaim and millions of streams in 2020. She’s written over 150 songs and draws influences from animals such as The Honey Badger and Tasmanian Devil. Beginning what promises to be an unforgettable summer, Sabrina Carpenter shares a new single entitled “Vicious” today.
Additionally, she reveals the details for the release of her anxiously awaited fifth full-length album and Island Records debut, Emails I Can’t Send, arriving on July 15, 2022. Check out the cover art below! Pre-order / pre-save--HERE. “Vicious” offers a glimpse of the ultra-personal song-writing and passionate, palpable, and powerful performances at the heart of the record. On the track, acoustic guitar underlines her intimate intonation as the beat gives way to an emotionally charged refrain, “Oh, you’re so vicious, love me then pretend you didn’t. Half of me just can’t resist it. Why you gotta be so vicious?” It culminates on a robust guitar lead, while she engages a stream-of-consciousness-style vocal barrage topped off with a scream. “Vicious” channels nineties pop-rock songcraft with an intoxicating dose of 21st century feels. About “Vicious,” she revealed:- “Sonically, you’re able to hear me really closely, and it’s almost like I’m narrating the story to you,” she elaborates. “This song is really narrative and personal. It’s as if I’m having a conversation. We’ve all had experiences with people we love so deeply who turn out to be different than we thought they were. It’s a really painful realization to come to terms with. A lot of times, we focus on the other side of the healing process and fail to own up to uncomfortable feelings like anger and resentment. I don’t touch on that side of myself too often, but it’s a huge part of my story over the past couple of years, so I thought it was important to start there on ‘Vicious’.” It arrives on the heels of her most recent single “Fast Times.” In addition to tallying over 12 million Spotify streams and 5.5 million YouTube views on the music video, it instantly incited tastemaker applause. Rolling Stone hailed it as a “sexy, playful pop song” and one of “The Best Songs of 2022,” and fans voted it Billboard’s “Favorite New Music” upon release. Redbrick promised, “She aims to deliver something deeper and more meaningful on her new album,” and Bustle summed it up best as “boppy.” Recently, she made headlines by starring in EMERGENCY, which premiered at the 2022 Sundance Film Festival. She appeared as a guest on the Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to discuss the movie as well as more upcoming music. Watch it HERE. Sabrina closed out 2021 with the single “Skinny Dipping.” Right out of the gate, it earned widespread tastemaker praise. Billboard described it as a “impressive vocal take from Carpenter” and said it’s “a natural fit for her as a singer and storyteller, as she lays down track for an adult music career.” “Skinny Dipping” followed the runaway success of “Skin.” The latter has gathered over 123 million Spotify streams and 26 million YouTube views on the music video to date. Upon arrival, it overtook the internet, trending at #1 on Twitter worldwide. It also marked her first Billboard Hot 100 hit in addition to receiving widespread acclaim. Billboard hailed it as “hitting that sweet spot between raw writing and grandiose production, resulting in an enthralling listen.” Meanwhile, Thomas Bleach applauded it as “an immediately addictive track that will simultaneously get stuck in your head, and have you thinking ‘damn, girl!’.” She also just launched her first fragrance in partnership with Scent Beauty, the world’s first multi-brand e-commerce platform for bespoke fragrances, which offer unique, culturally relevant fragrances to consumers worldwide. Inspired by Sabrina’s love of desserts, “Sweet Tooth” by Sabrina Carpenter Eau de Parfum indulges the sweet tooth with a fragrance good enough to eat. The scent is sweet, yet sophisticated and reminiscent of the irresistible joy of a candy shop, filled with creamy chocolate, pops of colour, swirls, and sweets. The gourmand fragrance, developed in partnership with Firmenich, features notes of chocolate marshmallow, vanilla, Chantilly cream, and sugared musk's. Sweet and petite, the bottle is modelled from the shape of a chocolate bar but reinvented in faceted glass with tones of pink and rose gold. The bottle sparkles with delight and becomes an art piece for all to unwrap and experience. The Discovery Size fragrance is available now at ScentBeauty.com, with the full-size Eau de Parfum to follow in September. Sabrina's Island Records debut album arrives July 15th. Listen here. The track is a rework of the hit single from Sampaio’s first studio album. The track’s lyrics include never-before-heard verses in Spanish and French. “Dançarina Remix” maintains the party vibe and sensuality of the original, but offers a fresh new international edge. A special music video for the single is also set to be released in the coming weeks. Sampaio’s new remix, which once again features MC Pedrinho, is reworked with a beat that mixes vocals and rhythms from Anitta, Nicky Jam and Dadju - some of the biggest names in Brazilian, Latin and French music today. Anitta, who was mentioned by name in the original version “Dançarina” (which also samples her song “Menina Má” (“Bad Girl”), now provides vocals throughout the entire track. "I was really pleased with the shout out when the original came out, and it was nice to see how big of a hit it turned out to be. So, of course I couldn’t turn down the chance to be part of this remix with Pedro Sampaio and so many other artists that I absolutely adore", Anitta shared. In the “Dançarina” remix, the Brazilian singer turns the hook “doida pra sentar” (which loosely translates to “desperate to drop it low”) into “loca pa’ bailar” (“desperate to dance”). Anitta’s famous dance step, which went viral on social media, is also given a tip of the hat with “Todas las chicas bailando hasta bajo haciendo el paso de Anitta” (“All the girls gettin’ low with that Anitta step”). The “Dançarina Remix” comes on the heels of Anitta’s highly anticipated new album Versions of Me, out now. Listen HERE. Instagram | Facebook | Twitter | YouTube | TikTok Singer-songwriter Mabel has announced plans for second album ‘About Last Night…’, which will be released on Polydor Records on July 15th. The immersive project was teased last week with new track ‘Overthinking’ (ft. 24kGoldn), and features euphoric first single ‘Let Them Know’, ‘Good Luck’ & more to come. ‘About Last Night….’ follows the Brit Award winner’s debut album ‘High Expectations’, which saw Mabel’s catalogue surpass 4.5 billion streams, 8 million singles sold (and twelve top 20s) plus 2.5 million adjusted album sales. With festivals this summer including Radio 1’s Big Weekend also kicking off, Mabel has announced plans for a special headline show at London’s Somerse House on July 17th to celebrate the launch of ‘About Last Night…’. Tickets are available now when pre-ordering the album, before pre-sale opens on May 31st and general sale begins on June 1st. Conceived by Mabel as the world went into lockdown – and completed as life IRL picks up pace – ‘About Last Night...’ is a vivid and hyperreal journey from the anticipated beginnings to the messy end of the best night out that never was. Each track transports the minutiae– getting ready to go out; feeling invincible; clocking an ex; crying in the bathroom; stumbling home – and transforms the normality into the magical. Throughout, Mabel once again switches up her effortless way with modern pop: influences span the liberated euphoria of noughties club-culture (dance-pop, house, transatlantic R&B) with deeper themes of expression and inclusion as gained from obsessively re-watching ‘Paris Is Burning’, ‘Pose’ and ‘Drag Race’ during lockdown. It’s this emotional space that (in Mabel’s own words) “brought her back to life” – here is a young woman processing her own, life-changing formative years growing up in the public eye, and taking charge of her narrative through this fantastical space. The feel-good blueprint of ‘About Last Night’ was conceived between Mabel’s West London home, Angelic studios in Oxford, and some of Los Angels’ most inspiring creative spaces (including the former hilltop residence of Frank Sinatra). Early on in the process, Mabel began to assemble a collective of creatively aligned collaborators including friends and frequent song writing partners Raye, MNEK, Kamille and Jax Jones. Impressed by his work with childhood hero Robyn on ‘Impact’, Mabel also teamed up with new faces like SG Lewis, before completing the project between lockdowns in the US with collaborators from pop’s top table: Stargate (Rihanna, Katy Perry), Tommy Brown (Ariana Grande, Victoria Monet), Jozzy (Beyoncé, Lil Nas X) and Aldae (Justin Bieber). Mabel first teased what she had been working on with first single ‘Let Them Know – an unapologetic anthem about dressing up with nowhere to go, and projecting confidence for anyone who needs it. ‘Good Luck’ distilled influences of heartbreak and female solidarity into perfectly realised pop, before the darker side of ‘About Last Night…’ was previewed on ‘Overthinking’: an escapist but unflinchingly honest snapshot of when nightlife meets social anxiety, and how to find your way back to yourself. The Mabel of 2022 is a young woman living in full and self-actualised power, intent on making music that will empower anyone who needs it. ‘About Last Night...’ focuses on the tiny, fleeting choices that constitute a big night out - but also those decisions that can be truly life-changing. Here is a record essentially about learning to live for the moment, and the hard-won wisdom that whatever there is to say ‘About Last Night…’ can wait until tomorrow, when the sun will come up again. Gearing up for yet another landmark season, GRAMMY® Award-nominated RIAA diamond-certified Dallas, TX artist Post Malone has just dropped the video for his new single “Cooped Up” [with Roddy Ricch] via Mercury Records/Republic Records. Rimes made a commitment to highlight females in the creation of the album, from the mixing to the recording and mastering, allowing her to fully immerse herself in the vulnerability of the lyrics and sound. “For me, god’s work was all about a journey of reclamation, where humanity meets spirit,” Rimes said. “The idea was to really dig into the duality of life, and I needed to be at the place I am in my life now in order to release this record whole-heartedly. It’s so empowering that I am finally there.” "God’s Work" track listing:
Instagram @leannrimes https://leannrimes.com/ Lucid Kidd may be, well, just a kid. But he is undoubtedly wise beyond his years. Not to mention that he comes from a part of the world that isn’t exactly a hotbed for young artists creating “edgy, melodic, urban pop.” That’s exactly what Lucid Kidd is doing, though. Born the day after Christmas in Vilnius, Lithuania, the multi-talented artist is ready to conquer America with his unique – and highly enjoyable – brand of music. Lucid Kidd has just released “G n T,” the first single from his forthcoming project. “G n T” and its accompanying video is out everywhere now. “I’m very proud of this song,” shares Lucid Kidd. “Essentially, it’s based on the idea of being at a party or a show or somewhere you should be communicating and having fun, but your emotions take over and make you feel unwanted. This song is very personal to me.” Lucid Kidd discovered a passion for music at 10, when he started taking guitar lessons and tinkering around on his grandmother’s grand piano. Then, his sister introduced him to the XXXTENTACION song “Look at Me,” and the rest is history. By the age of 13, Lucid Kidd was making his own music. Trying his hand to no avail at producing, replicating simple beats, and rapping over his own beats, he eventually pulled out beats from YouTube and started creating songs. It wasn’t long before he was creating three songs every day – recording, mixing, and experimenting all on his own. TRACK + OFFICIAL MUSIC VIDEO OUT NOW As Lucid Kidd continued to hone his sound, the young artist slowly gained attention, and began collaborating with his friend Lil Skar. The two crafted an entire catalogue of music and were soon called on to perform at local bars. Creating buzz in the local music scene, they eventually gained support from the most popular rap group in Lithuania, Flying Saucer Gang. “The culture is very different in Eastern Europe,” he shares. “Growing up there allowed me to see the real world and how harsh life can actually be. Especially in winter, Eastern Europe is a very cold, dark and depressing region which probably fuelled my creativity.” Now, Lucid Kidd is primed to introduce his music to America and beyond. His soon-to-be-released project boasts titles produced by Fast Life Beats (LouGotCash, Coi Leray, Perri Jones, Young Paris) and IKENNA FuNkEn (Kevin Gates), and collaborations with Corey Chorus (Rihanna, Keke Palmer, Estelle). With any luck, we’ll soon get to see Lucid Kidd perform live, which he has big plans for. “I can visualize a set up with a DJ, Keyboard player, programmer, guitarist, visuals and projection to accompany the set alongside a light show,” proclaims Lucid Kidd. “I want it to be a full experience.” In the meantime, his new project, which is set for release this summer, includes “G n T,” as well as the songs “Nothing Back,” “Today n Tomorrow,” “Smooth Sailing,” and a few others.
