Starting 2018 with a bang, LCAW has revealed a brand new song ‘Hummingbird’ featuring pop superstar Sophie Ellis-Bextor. The song is out now via Columbia Germany / Ultra Music. ‘Hummingbird’ is the first single to be taken from LCAW’s debut EP ‘Meet in the Middle’, which will be released in March. The EP features all new music. Further details to be announced in due course. LCAW is the alias of Munich native Leon Weber. The 23 year old began his journey in classical music, growing up in a family of musicians and training as a Cellist and Pianist before developing into a renowned electronic producer. LCAW’s unique blend of pop and dance music has gained him support from the likes of Odesza, Martin Garrix, Robin Schulz, and Felix Jaehn. He has also turned in acclaimed remixes for the likes of London Grammar, Parov Stelar, Asaf Avidan, Fritz Kalkbrenner, Marlon Roudette, ZHU and many others. After his remixes generated more than 60 million plays on Soundcloud and YouTube, LCAW released his debut single ‘Painted Sky’ in 2016 and achieved a top 50 placement in the German airplay charts. Follow up singles ‘Man in the Moon (ft. Dagny)’, ‘Staring at the Sun (ft. Sophie Hintze)’, ’Nobody Else But You’ and ‘Desires (ft. WhoMadeWho)’ have subsequently seen him attain more than 10 million total plays worldwide, with an army of followers and fans. ‘Hummingbird’ is the result of a London studio session with Sophie Ellis-Bextor. Originally, LCAW had intended a different song for Sophie to perform, but when hearing some of the demos he’d been working on for the EP, Sophie immediately connected with another instrumental work-in-progress. LCAW said: “Hummingbird is a very personal track with a more downbeat vibe, I think this is one of the main reasons Sophie instantly felt connected to it. Her voice has such a unique character and she added a whole other dimension to what I had made before we met. We had the recording session in a small studio in Notting Hill which hosted writing sessions for the likes of Adele, James Blunt and Lana Del Rey and it felt like there was a very special atmosphere” “‘Hummingbird’ will mark the start of a fresh style for my music in 2018, a modern approach to disco & funk infused dance music and I’m very happy that Sophie is part of it. Putting together my debut EP has been an incredibly exciting time for me and I can’t wait for you to hear the results!” Sophie Ellis-Bextor said: “It was great to work with Leon who I think is very talented. We had a brilliant session and I am so happy with the way Hummingbird has turned out. It’s always exciting making new dance music and I can’t wait for everyone to hear it” Sophie Ellis-Bextor shot to fame as a vocalist on Spiller’s huge number one single ‘Groovejet' and then followed it up with ‘Take Me Home’ and her worldwide smash hit, ‘Murder on the Dancefloor'. Her solo debut album, ‘Read My Lips’ was released in 2001 and reached number two in the UK Albums Chart and certified double platinum by the BPI. The album sold more than 2 million copies worldwide. Her subsequent album releases include Shoot from the Hip (2003), Trip the Light Fantastic (2007), Make a Scene (2011). 2014’s singer/songwriter release ‘Wanderlust’ with Ed Harcourt at the helm as Co-writer and Producer was a critical and commercial, success certified Gold and spending 3 weeks in the UK top 10 album chart spawning the hit single ‘Young Blood’. Sophie followed this release and collaboration with 2016’s ‘Familia’ which saw her return to the dance floor with the radio hit ‘Come With Us’. ‘Hummingbird’ is available here: https://LCAW.lnk.to/Hummingbird

After a string of successful single releases, earning notable positions on playlists such as New Noise on Spotify, this will be the band’s first full body of music for fans since they started in 2015. Fans can pre-order the EP here. Co-produced by James Paul Wisner (Paramore, Dashboard Confessional) and lead singer-songwriter, Alex Biro, Vertical Love serves as Biro’s full transition from singer-songwriter to an all-out alternative rock band with Selfish Things. “‘Vertical Love’ came into being after what was one of the most tumultuous periods of my life. It’s a body of work that’s representative of a time when I was struggling to eliminate my nihilistic outlook and replace it with something that was innately more sustainable and emotionally fruitful. I’ve always had a tendency to contemplate whether or not we choose the path we walk, or whether god / the universe / deity has placed us on a path that we have no control over. Looking back on it now, I think all of these songs are indicative of my struggle for control over the things I can’t understand or make sense of. The pain and suffering that come with sentience are necessary as a means of quantifying the depth of our experiences as living beings.” explains Biro. Vertical Love features 6 tracks that will be released independently in the US and via A Wolf At Your Door Records (Deaf Havana, Lower Than Atlantis, Mallory Knox) in the UK & Europe. Within the 6 tracks, singles “8147 Mulholland Terrace” and “1435” will be packaged within the EP. In addition to the EP announcement, Alternative Press recently debuted the video for “1435”, and the video can be watched by clicking below or you can stream the sing HERE. In addition to the video and new EP, the band is excited to embark on their first North American tour, as official support for Los Angeles-based act, Layne. The 29 date tour is the much anticipated follow up to their successful run opening for Simple Plan in Canada late 2017. “We’re really looking forward to spending some time in parts of America we’ve never seen individually, or as a band,” notes Biro. “I’m looking forward to hanging with my best friends on the road, eating some good southern food and making memories." Vertical Love is out 16th March via A Wolf At Your Door Records. Brazilian Ska-Punk Band Abraskadabra Debut New Music Video WATCH "THE DREAM" HERE Brazilian ska-punk band Abraskadabra is gearing up to release their new album Welcome next month, but today you can see the music video for their latest single "The Dream." Premiering on New Noise Magazine, the video is a wild ride inside the head of their vocalist Du, depicting a collection of different dreams he has had (which makes you wonder what the hell he's eating before bed). Video director Guilherme Lepca says:- "The process of making the video-clip was inspired by the 80’s punk movement aesthetics (specially Dead Kennedy's gig posters) and also by 30’s horror movies. Our objective recording the clip was to catch the process of making a new album in a rented house and also the vibe of the band. By mixing noisy pictures, non sense collages and parallaxes we wanted to give the clip a dreamy and dynamic narrative/look." The new album Welcome delivers Abraskadabra's own vision of the ska punk essence. Written as a whole band, they searched for a raw punchy sound while exploring the full capacity of melody. Instead of recording in a traditional studio environment, the seven-piece ensemble crammed themselves into an old house and captured everyone’s feelings and motivations in the moment. Arising in mid-2003, the band has toured all around Brazil and the US, sharing the stage with legends like Bad Religion, Rise Against, Goldfinger, Less Than Jake, and many more. In 2014, the band's cover of No Use For Name's "Not Your Savior" was featured in the Fat Wreck Chords doc A Fat Wreck. It isn’t just the 15-years on the road that settle the power and unity of Abraskadabra, but also the energy and passion they put into the music they create. Being friends first and putting together one of the most interesting punk bands in Brazil. Facebook // Instagram // Twitter Pillow Queens announce new EP ‘State of The State’. Set for release 16th March via Specialist Subject: http://shop.specialistsubjectrecords.co.uk/products/609465 Stream new single ‘Favourite’: https://soundcloud.com/specialistsubject/pillow-queens-favourite ‘State of The State’ is the new EP from queer, all-girl Irish indie rock group Pillow Queens. The four tracks will be released via Bristol-based indie Specialist Subject Records on 16th March. The first taster of the new collection is ‘Favourite’, a maniacal composition about self-delusion, which fizzes with intent and boasts a perfectly potent hook. Despite the sunny disposition of Pillow Queens’ catchy melodies and rambunctious riffs, the songs found on ‘State of The State’ tend to have a darker undercurrent. Opener ‘Puppets’ is “a song about the frustration of trying to succeed in post-recession Ireland and the effect that has on mental health,” explains vocalist/guitarist/bassist Sarah Corcoran. Elsewhere on the EP, the band muse on emotional highs and lows, the inevitability of anxiety and paranoia. ‘State of The State’ is the product of Pillow Queens’ first year being a band. Their intense year of gigging, touring, and really getting to know each other’s abilities fed into this recording, in contrast to the creation of their delightful debut ‘Calm Girls’ EP, which was recorded just after the band got together. Producer Peter Ashmore tapped into the wide-reaching references PQ threw at him, which included the likes of Hop Along, Yuck, Weezer, Manchester Orchestra and the Pixies, in order to attain a timeless feel befitting of the beautifully crafted songs. Rachel Lyons (drums/vocals) observes that the EP draws “from all our teenage musical influences which have been chewed up and poured out, PQ style.” The resulting creation is something special and unmistakeably “Pillow Queens”. The artwork for the EP was brought to life by Nola Mellon and is inspired by the old Fallon’s maths times table book you used to have in primary school. He was only 34 years old. Best known for his involvement in the most recent albums by the veteran act Front Line Assembly, he was also the co-founder of Left Spine Down (LSD) and produced tracks for various other well known musicians. Based in Vancouver, he was welcomed into Front Line Assembly in 2005, co-writing and producing the album ‘Artificial Soldier’ that was released the following year. He also toured with the band, including festival appearances at the likes of Mera Luna, Summer Darkness and Amphi Festival and the band’s first ever appearances in Russia. He continued working with FLA on their ensuing albums ‘Improvised Electronic Device’, ‘Airmech’ (a video game soundtrack) and ‘Echogenetic’. Jeremy’s involvement with FLA (plus their frontman Bill Leeb's side-project Noise Unit) provided him with the opportunity to present his ‘other’ band to a wider public, with the result that Left Spine Down toured with the likes of Revolting Cocks, The Birthday Massacre, Genitorturers and oHGr, plus a large scale North American trek with 16volt and Chemlab in 2010. Blending elements of industrial, punk and alternative rock into a sound that was catchy yet abrasive, melodic yet fist-pumping, with detailed electronica-style programming and a ‘fuck you’ punk attitude, Jeremy had formed LSD with frontman Kaine Delay. The duo’s final album, ‘Caution’, was released soon after the group had signed with Metropolis Records. Bill Leeb of Front Line Assembly has this to say of Jeremy : “I am truly shocked, heartbroken and saddened beyond belief. Jeremy’s animated larger than life personality will be truly missed. Everyone who met him walked away saying that he was one of the nicest people they had ever met. His creativity will also be sorely missed. He had a huge passion for for music, film and a love of performing. We had recently started creating ideas for a new FLA album, while he also participated on our upcoming ‘Airmech 2’ release, which we are dedicating to his memory. Rest easy…. there will always be a place for you with us.” Metropolis Records have stated that : “We are stunned and saddened to learn of Jeremy's sudden death. We wish to extend our deepest condolences to his family, bandmates and friends. His family requests that anyone wishing to make a gesture in his memory to please make a cash donation at your local food bank. They also request that we all please remember Jeremy for the kind, funny, soulful and talented person that he was." UK contemporary pianist and composer Alexis Ffrench has unveiled his beautiful new single ‘Waterfalls' - out now on Sony Music. Following his recent sold-out performance at the Royal Albert Hall’s Elgar Room at the end of 2018, this eagerly-anticipated new single starts Ffrench’s New Year in style. Following his previous singles - the double A-side ‘Radiate’ / ‘Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas’, with half a million streams combined and the launch single ‘Bluebird’, which now boasts two million streams across all platforms, ‘Waterfalls’ conjures up a dreamlike state, with its melodic piano and atmospheric strings. Noted Alexis Ffrench: ““‘Waterfalls’ is inspired by the extremes and inherent fragility of the human experience. Loss, love, birth, sorrow, triumph and despair. Sentiments summed up by E. M Forster. ‘The ends of the earth, the depths of the sea, the darkness of time, you have chosen all three’” With over 50 million streams to date and now over a million active Spotify listeners a month, Alexis Ffrench is already an established star in the streaming world, leading the way for the new generation of classical artists, with his music speaking to a very wide and diverse audience and transcending all boundaries and genres. With a brand new album in the works and an exciting partnership with Modest! Management, home to artists including Little Mix, Olly Murs and more, 2018 already looks very exciting for this exceptional musician. As likely to be found listening to Kendrick Lamar and Chance the Rapper as Bach, Alexis Ffrench’s combination of classical training and love for R&B and roots music has helped define his unique sound. Trying to break the rigorous and academic preconceptions of classical music, Alexis Ffrench now finds himself as one of the leading voices of a new wave of composers, redefining a genre made accessible by artists of the stature of Ludovico Einaudi and Michael Nyman. Throughout his studies and early career, Alexis Ffrench was awarded an array of prizes and scholarships for his exceptional musicianship. 2018 will see Ffrench working on his new album for summer release. His prominence in the digital world shows that his music speaks to many people and he is at the forefront of an exciting movement to make classical music more accessible for all. Website ‘Hologram Moon’ is the first album in five years by the Italian electronic dark wave act Kirlian Camera. It includes the autumn 2017 single ’Sky Collapse’, which saw frontwoman Elena Alice Fossi duetting with Eskil Simonsson of Covenant. A song about blackening skies and disquieting scenarios, it was written by Fossi with band mate Angelo Bergamini and mixed by the legendary producer John Fryer. The song dominated the German Alternative Charts in the final quarter of the year. However, ‘Sky Collapse’ was merely a portent of something more epic, as the full album shows off Kirlian Camera at the peak of their powers. Not only do new songs such as ‘Eyes Of The Moon’, ’Travellers Testament’ and ‘Polar IHS’ seem destined to repeat the club success of the first single, but the lyrical subject matter is also intriguing. The album title itself comes from a conspiracy theory that suggests the moon is no harmless satellite orbiting the earth, but a visual hologram sheltering an artificial and possibly alien construct. Whether taken seriously or not, ‘Hologram Moon’ sees the band engaging in subversive play with perspectives and alternative realities.
