Goo Goo Dolls will be releasing their thirteenth studio LP Chaos in Bloom on August 12th, 2022 via Warner Records. Marking the first album of their career to be produced by frontman John Rzeznik, the record finds the band at the top of their game and continuing to constantly evolve after nearly four decades together. Consisting of 10 tracks, Chaos in Bloom is an album of biting sarcasm, stadium-ready choruses, and the type of spear-sharp song-writing that’s led them to becoming one of the most influential alternative rock groups of all time. The record is available for pre-order HERE.. While Chaos in Bloom isn’t necessarily an album borne out by the pandemic, many of the tracks reflect on all of the things in daily life that became amplified while everyone was isolated from one another and sequestered at home. “Chaos in Bloom reminded us how special this whole thing is and to cherish the relationships that we have together,” says Rzeznik about the album. “Where we’ve been, and where we’re going.” Oscillating from personal reflections on the state of the world to societal commentaries, the songs on the album grapple with observations about our dystopian modernity while searching for optimism and pushing for a more empathetic world. “I’ve been trying to have a relationship with the bigger picture,” adds bassist and songwriter Robby Takac, “and refining happiness and what it means from that perspective.” To record the album, Rzeznik and Takac retreated to Dreamland Studios just outside Woodstock, New York during the pandemic. An environment as remote as it is rich with historic rock music roots, the location proved to be the perfect setting for clearing the noise and creating such a record, which carries a true live quality that the band captured by blending vintage instruments and gear with new-age recording processes and techniques. The band has also shared the intro track from Chaos In Bloom. “Yeah, I Like You.” ignites the record with a rousing acoustic guitar line that hits like a gut punch, with lyrics that effortlessly critique our celebrity culture, and the people who work so hard to look so disaffected while masking insecurities with false self-assuredness. “In a world that is just drowning in social media and internet stars, many of whom are certainly talented, but many confirm that in 2022 you can be famous for doing nothing,” says Rzeznik. “Celebrity in this age has a very quick burn. It was hard not to be consumed by it during the pandemic.” Listen to “Yeah, I Like You” and watch the official music video HERE For the first time since 2019, the band will embark on a sprawling US tour this summer. Set to kick off on July 15, 2022 and performing songs from Chaos in Bloom for the first time ever, it takes in iconic outdoor venues spanning North America, including Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Colorado, The Greek Theatre in Los Angeles, and Northwell Health at Jones Beach Theatre in Wantagh, NY. Information & tickets can be found via the band’s website HERE. Goo Goo Dolls will be partnering with the Joe Torre Safe At Home Foundation for the tour, a non-profit founded in 2002 by Ali and Joe Torre to provide healing and education services to youth who have been traumatized by exposure to violence including domestic violence, child abuse, teen dating abuse, and sexual assault to help break the cycle of violence. NJ punk band Pollyanna is facing down their anxieties in new single and music video “Relationship Anxiety,” out now here: https://orcd.co/pollyannarelationshipanxiety. The aggressive new track follows previous singles “SLUT,” “Mars,” and “Pathetic.” All three can be found on Pollyanna’s forthcoming album Slime, set to be released on June 17th via I Surrender Records. On the new single, vocalist Jill Beckett (she/they) shares: “’Relationship Anxiety’ is definitely a telling title for what it’s about, but this song actually goes in depth for so much more. For most of my life, I constantly felt anxious at the thought of going into a relationship means you have to make sacrifices to have it work and you can’t ever think about anyone romantically or physically ever again. And that was a constant fear of mine. Not only that but we put so much expectations on ourselves, of when we should be single and when we shouldn’t. For awhile, I had so much fear of going into a relationship because I thought my lifestyle would have to change and I thought that this period of time I should remain single which is in my opinion a false narrative to have. This song is basically about coming to terms with being polyamorous and being able to feel love for multiple people while also having an anxiety that because of that, I would never be in a happy relationship with someone.” Fans can expect more music soon, and look forward to seeing new songs live later this year as Pollyanna hits the road with Forever Came Calling.
Pollyanna is a four piece band from New Jersey composed of lead vocalist and guitarist Jill Beckett, percussionist Daniel McCool, bassist Brandon Bolton, and guitarist Jack Rose. With sounds of power-pop, loud rock, bubble grunge, and punk influences, their name is directly derived from the dictionary definition, “to be unreasonably or illogically optimistic” - perfectly describing front-person Jill Beckett’s ‘stuck in 2017’ incredibly optimistic attitude. After meeting in the first grade, Dan and Jill started the band at just 13 years old, eager to create and play music that would reach audiences beyond the confines of Jill’s open garage doors. Brandon made them a trio in early 2019, bringing 90’s femme punk influence to the group. At the start of 2021, Jack completed the bands’ line up, adding his elemental stabbing guitars and love for shoegaze and metal into the mix. After completing almost 5 tours around the east coast and the Midwest, Pollyanna has won over a following in the New Jersey music scene along with cities in the tri-state and beyond. They plan on leaving a unique mark in the music industry. For more Information, please visit:
American punks Timeshares sign with Wiretap Records; new single + video "Siren Sound" out now6/6/2022 Philadelphia punks Timeshares have signed with Wiretap Records. The band release its three-song In The Ground EP last year, and have just debuted a new single + video "Siren Sound," which BrooklynVegan describes as, "a fine example of this band's ability to churn out warm, grizzled heartland punk." Watch for a full-length to be released later this year on Wiretap Records / Bearded Punk Records. Stream "Siren Sound" on DSPs: https://distrokid.com/hyperfollow/timeshares1/siren-sound
Bassist (and songwriter) Mike Natoli says:- "I had just moved back to my hometown and got reluctantly dragged to my 10-year high school reunion. While I wasn’t necessarily questioning myself, it still managed to stir up some weird thoughts and feelings about what I was doing with my life. I wanted to write about the subject from the reverse perspective of “A Plea From A Cat Named Virtute” by The Weakerthans and make it a proposition to my golden retriever Buddy. This wild idea that we could trade lives and he could go out on my adventures while I got to blend in with the scenery and not talk to anyone was something that seemed mutually beneficial." English alternative rock band The Subways are back with a new single titled "You Kill My Cool," which will appear on the trio's upcoming album, due out this fall. Stream the single here: https://linktr.ee/thesubways. Lead vocalist Billy Lunn says:- "You Kill My Cool was written at a time when I felt love so strongly that I wanted to be consumed by it, to give myself over to it entirely. I recognised a self-effacement in this feeling, as it was a willing submission or surrender that was as much destructive as it was productive. You become ecstatic, beside yourself, and not what you were before. Time stops but moves too quickly, you grow but you also diminish, you feel pleasure alongside immense pain. The one you love is more than just a single number amongst seven-billion others, more than a profile picture or a name by which you call them. They're godlike - and with such power, they can send you to a state of nirvana and they can demolish you. Either of which continues to enthral." The Subways remain one of the most exciting live bands on the current touring circuit, thrilling crowds with their explosive rock sound and wild stage performances. Back in 2005, with an average age of just 18, Billy, Charlotte and Josh crashed onto the international music scene with their debut album ‘YOUNG FOR ETERNITY’, and their rock-club floor-filling single ‘ROCK & ROLL QUEEN’. The NME proclaimed them “The sexiest thing to sweep rock n roll off its feet in years!”. An appearance on American smash teen drama THE OC and in Guy Ritchie’s London Gangster flick ‘RocknRolla’ has helped make the track a Spotify Rock Playlist mainstay. https://open.spotify.com/artist/4BntNFyiN3VGG4hhRRZt9d The band have released four albums to date. Their sophomore, ‘ALL OR NOTHING’ (2008), was recorded in LA with heavyweight producer Butch Vig. The global pandemic, though cutting short their 40+ date international ‘Young For Eternity Anniversary Tour’, has kept Billy busy in his newly-established Hertfordshire studio, with Charlotte and Josh in their respective homes focused on remotely recording Album 5. Makeshift under-stair vocal booths were constructed, and the album is now ready for a summer, 2022 release alongside a full European Tour (https://www.thesubways.net/gigs). In April 2021 the band signed to ‘Alcopop’ and released the politically-charged, Black-Lives-Matter-inspired single “Fight”, which they describe as “a letter in two parts: a gesture of solidarity with the Black community and communities of colour as they face their daily oppression at the hands of systemic racism, and a wake-up-call to the white community that such oppressions do in fact exist, and that we must acknowledge these oppressions and fight alongside marginalised communities as allies.” Sadly, in October 2020, after completing drum contributions for the upcoming 5th album, drummer and founding band member Josh Morgan left the band. (Full story here: https://www.thesubways.net/single-post/josh-leaves-the-subways). The Subways quickly added drummer Camille Phillips (previously of The Ramonas [http://www.ramonas.co.uk] to the band line-up for the rescheduled 2021 ‘Young For Eternity’ Anniversary tour dates, on which she was very warmly welcomed and received by the band’s devoted fanbase. In January 2022, she was happily announced as The Subways’ new permanent drummer. It is indeed live where the band hit another level. Firm summer festival favourites, they have graced the stages of over 100 international festivals (including, notably, Glastonbury’s Pyramid Stage, the main stages at Reading & Leeds, Rock Im Park, Rock Am Ring, Hurricane, Southside, and Rock En Seine) but whether in front of 100 people or 250,000, the band always deliver a high octane, thoroughly entertaining set… “We will rock till we drop, as there is nothing more exciting for us than being on tour. The greatest drug in the world is seeing people screaming the words and dancing to the songs you’ve written. To get up onstage and to play rock and roll every day, to visit new towns, new cities, new countries, new continents and to make new friends along the way, it’s the most amazing experience we’ve ever felt!” Website Finnish punk rock band One Hidden Frame has released the new album 'I Am Not Here' via Thousand Islands Records (North and South Americas) and Lockjaw Records (UK/EU). After releasing "Mild Safari", their debut single, Jaguero, the "supergroup" (consisting of members of Slander, Regarde, La Fortuna) release "Negative, Awesome!". The punk rock band from Vicenza (Italy) unveil another piece of the first EP, produced by Maurizio Baggio at La Distilleria in Bassano del Grappa, out in April on all digital platforms via Epidemic Records. The band says:- "“Negative, Awesome!” deals with the concept of balance: every day, we all face our commitments, our hobbies, our jobs, pretending that everything is ok and that this routine is fine for us. In reality, this is consuming us slowly, and we are so absorbed by this process that we are not able to wake up and realize it. It's okay to accept also the negative parts of ourselves, because they perfectly co-exists with the positive ones. This is just who we are: a complex spectrum that goes from a bright side to a darker one." Negative, Awesome! is out digitally, you can find it here: www.smarturl.com/JagueroNA You can follow Jaguero on social media to stay up to date on the band's activities and the EP release. Multi-platinum, four-time GRAMMY-nominated rock band Goo Goo Dolls have debuted a brand new lyric video for their single “Fearless,” one of the standout songs from the band’s 12th studio album Miracle Pill. Directed and produced by Michael Perlmutter, the comic-book-inspired piece is a heartfelt celebration of life’s everyday heroes. Watch the video now HERE. Goo Goo Dolls also filmed a live performance of “Fearless” in association with Global Citizen for their “Together At Home” Series. The stripped-down rendition was recorded in an effort to spread awareness and raise funds for the World Health Organization to help end the coronavirus. Watch it now HERE. Miracle Pill officially arrived in September 2019 via Warner Records. The album was described as “potentially the biggest Dolls album released to date (Planet Rock)”, as well as one that “easily stands alongside the best of their career (PopMatters).” In addition to “Fearless,” the engaging and timely album also features numerous other instant-classics such as the smash single “Miracle Pill” and the slow-burn “Autumn Leaves”. Formed in Buffalo, NY during 1986 by John Rzeznik and Robby Takac, Goo Goo Dolls quietly broke records, contributed a string of staples to the American songbook, connected to millions of fans, and indelibly impacted popular music for three-plus decades. Beyond selling 12 million records worldwide, the group garnered four GRAMMY® Award nominations and seized a page in the history books by achieving 14 number one and Top 10 hits at Hot AC—"the most of any artist.” As a result, they hold the all-time radio record for “Most Top 10 Singles.” Among a string of hits, “Iris” clutched #1 on the Hot 100 for 18 straight weeks and would be named “#1 Top 40 Song of the Last 20 Years.” Thus far, A Boy Named Goo (1995) went double-platinum, Dizzy Up The Girl went quadruple-platinum, and Gutterflower (2002) and Let Love In (2006) both went gold as Something for the Rest of Us [2010] and Magnetic (2013) bowed in the Top 10 of the Billboard Top 200. 2016’s Boxes attracted the praise of People and Huffington Post as Noisey, Consequence of Sound, and more featured them. Their music has been covered by everyone from Taylor Swift to Leona Lewis. Among many accolades, John received the prestigious “Hal David Starlight Award” in 2008. Following a sold-out 2018 twentieth anniversary tour in celebration of Dizzy Up The Girl, Goo Goo Dolls wrote and recorded their twelfth full-length album, Miracle Pill, igniting a bold and bright new era in the process. Miracle Pill arrived on September 13th, 2019 via Warner Records. Official Site | Facebook | Twitter | Instagram | YouTube Dutch Rockers F.U.A. are pleased to announce that they have signed with WormHoleDeath for the release of their debut album "Socially Transmitted Disease" "Socially Transmitted Disease" has been recorded and mixed at Realsound Studio. "Socially Transmitted Disease" will be released on 28 September 2018 via Wormholedeath / Aural Music Group / The Orchard worldwide and on 28 November 2018 via Disk Union Distribution in Japan. The album will be available for pre order on 14 September 2018. Band Statement: "Hi we are F.U.A. As you probably know our debut album ''Socially Transmitted Disease'' is about to be released via Wormholedeath. We have been working on it for almost three years. With ''Socially Transmitted Disease'' we want to send a warning out into the world against the dangers of social media cause unfortunately a lot of people are addicted to their phones and computers. The digital drugs we use daily has taken our social lives in a stranglehold. We ourselves have fallen victim to the addicting digital world. So we decided to fight against it. The album containing 14 songs is a mixture between what we like to hear in music : raw powerful emotion and also a lot of fun! We hope that you all enjoy our music. We can't wait to see you rock at one of our shows! Cheers!" F.U.A. is a Dutch light and heavy punk creation of four friends who are all self-taught musicians. The band started by accident when drummer Sander Pietersen was practising with his friend at a local bar. That same day singer Daphne De Heij walked past and interested by the sounds, entered the bar. It did not take long before she grabbed a microphone and busted out some self-written lyrics. Later F.U.A. was fully formed when bass player Robbert Van Der Bijl and eventually guitarist Mitchell Verschoor joined the group. The band started creating their own songs while simultaneously learning to play as a band. When F.U.A. had just one song they immediately performed it live without second thought. The audience really liked the way the band presented itself. Generally having a good time and doing crazy on stage with easy to remember sing-along songs. F.U.A then quickly started to grow as a small underground punk-rock band. The demo released in 2015, while in low quality, was immediately sold-out. Armed with their own style F.U.A. took over the Dutch city of Purmerend as the go-to punk-rock band. With this newly gained popularity the band travelled all-over The Netherlands to perform on many venues, bars and festivals. Mitchell Verschoor joined the band at a later stage and started writing songs specifically for Daphne’s singing. It proved very successful after the song ‘Cheers’ became a major turning point for the band. Daphne and Mitchell are mostly behind the lyrics of the songs. This means that alot of different views are taken into the music. F.U.A was also never shy about themselves and posted all kinds of video’s online. Some were funny moments while others were low-quality videos of shows. They just wanted to share all the good times with the world. Because of this online presence F.U.A. got approached by Italian music producer Corvi Wahoomy, from Realsound Studios and Carlo Bellotti, owner at record label Wormholedeath, in 2016. Bellotti asked the band for a newer demo. Agreeing to Bellotti’s request the band spend a lot of time recording this demo, but the sound was still low quality. Still Bellotti saw a lot of potential in F.U.A. as he fell in love with the energy and sound of the band, especially the song "Cheers" . He wanted the band to record a fully fledged album with Corvi at RealSound Studio in Langhirano, Italy. The band, again agreeing, started writing an entire year and finally entered the studio in January 2018. Working together with talented producers Coruzzi Christian and Corvi Wahoomy, the fruit of the band’s labours have paid off. The album, containing 14 songs, was exactly what everyone had envisioned. With many influences in all kinds of rock. It's a fast and heavy creation with an unique style unheard of in the world of punk. F.U.A. is planning to release this album on a worldwide scale on the 28th of September, 2018 via Wormholedeath. www.facebook.com/FuaBand www.instagram.com/f.u.a.official www.fuaband.com twitter.com/FUAOfficial1 Punk rock artist and women's empowerment activist, Shiragirl, has premiered the live video for her single "Summers Comin" exclusively with New Noise Magazine. Produced by Tim Armstrong (Rancid, The Transplants, Pink, The Interrupters) and John King (Beastie Boys, Beck, Dust Brothers), Brooklyn Goes Hollywood features a new sound; one that fuses punk rock, new wave and modern dance pop. With deep roots on the East Coast, this "Punk Rock Madonna" first splashed onto the scene after crashing the Vans Warped Tour. As the legend goes, a young, determined Shira showed up in her iconic pink RV, created her own stage and performed atop it with her band. After receiving a rousing crowd response, Warped Tour founder Kevin Lyman invited Shira to return the following summer to host an official Shiragirl Stage. The stage went on to host over 200 female-fronted bands, many making their Warped debuts, including Paramore on their first ever tour, and the legendary Joan Jett. This year, the Shiragirl Stage returned to the 2018 Vans Warped Tour for select dates, including Pomona, San Diego, Ventura and more, and hosted artists such as Blameshift, Shiragirl, Elana J, No Small Children, Whitney Peyton, Bridge City Sinners, Turbulent Hearts and Moa, plus new additions Rivals, Vanessa Silberman and Babs from Emo Nite (DJ set). Shiragirl is also set to perform on the Full Sail Stage at select Warped Tour dates in July, including Milwaukee and Indianapolis. With the Shiragirl Stage, Shira accomplished her mission to inspire and empower women, by providing them a platform for creative expression. She also broke into the boys club, and made Punk Rock history. Shiragirl's story was featured in the book 'Misfit Summer Camp: 20 Years On The Road With The Vans Warped Tour'. She received an MTV Warpie Award, and a spot in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Warped Tour Time Capsule Exhibit as well. Shiragirl went on to rock stages across North America, including support slots for Rancid, NOFX, and Juliette Lewis. In 2017, Shiragirl shot a music video for her single "RESIST" at the Women's March, and was invited back to play the 2018 Women's March.
