Launching from Norwich, pop-punks Crossing The Limits have announced that their debut EP entitled ‘Perseverance’ will be self-released on 6th April 2018. Rachael Holland, the vocalist for the newcomers, sets the scene: “It's about walking through the storm. Life gets rough, but you have to keep going. You can't just sit there in your rut and give up, you have to persevere through setbacks to grow.” Now available for streaming here, is the quintet’s bright and infectiously catchy debut single ‘Won’t Settle’, with Holland revealing: “I wrote this track when I was dating someone who didn't really feel as if they were making any effort at all. I'd just gotten over a really bad break up, and they were the first person I'd really liked for a while, but they were completely emotionally unavailable. I just said to myself “I cannot settle for someone who just isn't 100% there”. We want people who listen to this song to feel empowered, you have to walk away from anything that isn't serving your happiness.”
Completed by Tom Colmans and Dan Smith on Guitar, Tim Clements on Bass and Ben Brennan on Drums, Crossing The Limits came together thanks to ‘the internet’, with Holland recalling: “I'd just gotten out of another band I'd been in for a few years, but it had reached a point where we weren't all on the same page any more. I felt pretty disheartened but I knew that I wasn't done. I began searching online for members to start a new band with, who were all committed and driven. Our ambition is for our music to uplift people and inspire them to be who they are.”
With the line-up complete, the members set about writing material, drawing upon lessons they had learned over the past year. Not all of the songs made the cut, but after 4 months the band had the material that would become the record, seeing them dealing with topics such as “the heartbreak of a first love; loss of friendship; not being afraid to carry on going alone and resisting the urge to fall in line by favouring your own path in life.” Recorded at Steel City Studios with Drew Lawson and mastered by Grant Berry at Fader, Holland fondly recalls: “Staying in a budget hotel, living off of fast food and being around each other all the time brought us all closer together, and we really got to know each other and how to agree to disagree sometimes. These guys are my best friends, and the support we give each other is amazing, they're my brothers.” Naming Neck Deep, Tonight Alive, State Champs and Against The Current amongst their influences, on ‘Perseverance’ Crossing The Limits offer up a delightfully energetic and uplifting dose of posi-pop-punk. Holland concludes: “There aren't enough female fronted bands out there right now, we can bring it just as much as any male fronted band. We're coming full force.”

Tonight Alive is celebrating the release of their album Underworld today. Full of unique melodies, heavy hitting rock sounds and the undeniable vocal magic of singer Jenna McDougall, this album marks a turning point for the band both sonically and personally. It is full of moments that pushed the band to express the best and worst parts of themselves and features guest vocals from Lynn Gunn (PVRIS) and Corey Taylor (Slipknot, Stone Sour.) Already heralded by press as some of the band's best work to date, Underworld is available today on Spotify, Apple Music and iTunes. Physical albums and merchandise bundles are available at http://smarturl.it/TAUWmerch.
On the release, McDougall shares "Underworld is a record about meeting and making peace with your dark side. Writing it required a journey into the uncharted territory of the Shadow Self; all that has been neglected and abandoned. It's essence says that ultimately our deepest healing happens in the most painful periods of our life."
The band's latest single, "Disappear" premiered last week as Annie Mac's Hottest Record on BBC Radio 1. The super-charged track joins previously released singles "Crack My Heart" and "Temple." All three tracks have been seeing incredible streaming success with adds to Spotify's Rock This, Femme Fatale, The Scene, Pop Punk's Not Dead and Crash Course Playlists in the US, coveted New Music Friday adds in Thailand, Mexico and Italy, an appearance on Google Play's Today's Top Alternative Hits chart, as well as spots on Apple Music's Best of the Week and A-List: Rock Playlists in the UK.
Tonight Alive, the now 4 piece since departure of guitarist & writer Whakaio Taahi is composed of vocalist Jenna McDougall, rhythm guitarist Jake Hardy, bassist Cameron Adler and drummer Matt Best. After self-releasing the EP's All Shapes & Disguises and Consider This in 2010, Tonight Alive released What Are You So Scared Of? in 2011/2012. In 2013 the band released The Other Side. The band also contributed the song "The Edge" to The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Soundtrack before releasing their third full length album, Limitless in 2016.
Tonight Alive is celebrating the release of the music video for their latest single "Disappear" today. The super-charged track features Lynn Gunn (PVRIS) and is the third single from their upcoming album Underworld. On the track and collaboration, singer Jenna McDougall shares "Disappear is a song about the escapist inside all of us. As you can expect from Tonight Alive, the lyrics discuss freedom, but this time with a flavour of anonymity and detachment. Disappear was written with the intention of sounding neither like Pvris or Tonight Alive, and aimed to capture the sonic imagery of a long straight highway out of your comfort zone." The video is currently streaming here: http://smarturl.it/disappearmusicvideo.
Musically, the upcoming album gives fans unique melodies and heavy hitting rock sounds. Lyrically, it is the most personal work they have ever put forth. It is full of moments that pushed the band to explore every aspect of themselves both creatively and emotionally. Due out January 12th, 2018 via Hopeless Records, Underworld is available for pre-order at http://smarturl.it/TAUnderworld.

Produced by Aaron Sprinkle (Anberlin, New Found Glory, Acceptance)and mixed by Tom Lord-Alge & J Hall, this 6th studio album is a testament of how inspired and committed they are to making their best record yet. Wolves is available for pre-order via Pledge Music now, with public pre-orders available next Friday, November 3rd.
Along with this announcement, the band has released their first song, "Bang Bang" premiering exclusively on Alternative Press, here. AltPress.com calls the track a "sure-fire crowd-pleaser"and continued on by saying "it's the perfect way of reminding fans why they fell in love with the band in the first place."
Wolves is full of depth as the band continues down a supercharged anthemic road of alternative rock/hard rock songs while remaining consistent to their classic Story of the Year soaring sound. "This album is us breaking through any rules or creative parameters we may have set for ourselves in the past. These are the most organic, honest, naturally flowing songs we've had in years, maybe ever." Lead Singer Dan Marsala continues on saying "It tells a story of growing up, feeling lost, realizing you're not the person you thought that you would be, fighting for you life, falling in love, learning the importance of family, and all at the same time, being scared to death of how all of that fits together in life. It's an up and down roller coaster of hope and fear."
Yesterday, the band released their first behind-the-scenes look to the album in a webisode, which fans can check out HERE. This is the first of many that will countdown to the album release on December 8th and in classic SOTY form, they are going to be fun.
Story of the Year fans have been singing along for the past 17 years to hit songs like "Until The Day I Die," "Anthem of our Dying Day," "Take Me Back," "Wake Up" and more. The album pre-order and other exclusive early access to behind the scenes videos, upcoming singles and more can be found here: https://www.pledgemusic.com/projects/storyoftheyear.
