Beginning what promises to be an unforgettable summer, Sabrina Carpenter shares a new single entitled “Vicious” today.
Additionally, she reveals the details for the release of her anxiously awaited fifth full-length album and Island Records debut, Emails I Can’t Send, arriving on July 15, 2022. Check out the cover art below! Pre-order / pre-save--HERE. “Vicious” offers a glimpse of the ultra-personal song-writing and passionate, palpable, and powerful performances at the heart of the record. On the track, acoustic guitar underlines her intimate intonation as the beat gives way to an emotionally charged refrain, “Oh, you’re so vicious, love me then pretend you didn’t. Half of me just can’t resist it. Why you gotta be so vicious?” It culminates on a robust guitar lead, while she engages a stream-of-consciousness-style vocal barrage topped off with a scream. “Vicious” channels nineties pop-rock songcraft with an intoxicating dose of 21st century feels. About “Vicious,” she revealed:- “Sonically, you’re able to hear me really closely, and it’s almost like I’m narrating the story to you,” she elaborates. “This song is really narrative and personal. It’s as if I’m having a conversation. We’ve all had experiences with people we love so deeply who turn out to be different than we thought they were. It’s a really painful realization to come to terms with. A lot of times, we focus on the other side of the healing process and fail to own up to uncomfortable feelings like anger and resentment. I don’t touch on that side of myself too often, but it’s a huge part of my story over the past couple of years, so I thought it was important to start there on ‘Vicious’.” It arrives on the heels of her most recent single “Fast Times.” In addition to tallying over 12 million Spotify streams and 5.5 million YouTube views on the music video, it instantly incited tastemaker applause. Rolling Stone hailed it as a “sexy, playful pop song” and one of “The Best Songs of 2022,” and fans voted it Billboard’s “Favorite New Music” upon release. Redbrick promised, “She aims to deliver something deeper and more meaningful on her new album,” and Bustle summed it up best as “boppy.” Recently, she made headlines by starring in EMERGENCY, which premiered at the 2022 Sundance Film Festival. She appeared as a guest on the Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to discuss the movie as well as more upcoming music. Watch it HERE. Sabrina closed out 2021 with the single “Skinny Dipping.” Right out of the gate, it earned widespread tastemaker praise. Billboard described it as a “impressive vocal take from Carpenter” and said it’s “a natural fit for her as a singer and storyteller, as she lays down track for an adult music career.” “Skinny Dipping” followed the runaway success of “Skin.” The latter has gathered over 123 million Spotify streams and 26 million YouTube views on the music video to date. Upon arrival, it overtook the internet, trending at #1 on Twitter worldwide. It also marked her first Billboard Hot 100 hit in addition to receiving widespread acclaim. Billboard hailed it as “hitting that sweet spot between raw writing and grandiose production, resulting in an enthralling listen.” Meanwhile, Thomas Bleach applauded it as “an immediately addictive track that will simultaneously get stuck in your head, and have you thinking ‘damn, girl!’.” She also just launched her first fragrance in partnership with Scent Beauty, the world’s first multi-brand e-commerce platform for bespoke fragrances, which offer unique, culturally relevant fragrances to consumers worldwide. Inspired by Sabrina’s love of desserts, “Sweet Tooth” by Sabrina Carpenter Eau de Parfum indulges the sweet tooth with a fragrance good enough to eat. The scent is sweet, yet sophisticated and reminiscent of the irresistible joy of a candy shop, filled with creamy chocolate, pops of colour, swirls, and sweets. The gourmand fragrance, developed in partnership with Firmenich, features notes of chocolate marshmallow, vanilla, Chantilly cream, and sugared musk's. Sweet and petite, the bottle is modelled from the shape of a chocolate bar but reinvented in faceted glass with tones of pink and rose gold. The bottle sparkles with delight and becomes an art piece for all to unwrap and experience. The Discovery Size fragrance is available now at ScentBeauty.com, with the full-size Eau de Parfum to follow in September. Sabrina's Island Records debut album arrives July 15th. Greek atmospheric heavy rockers Burn The Sun have signed with Sliptrick Records. Hailing from Athens, Greek band Burn The Sun were formed when brothers Stamatis and Aggelos Spyropoulos came together with their childhood friend Fotis Maragkos and started playing music under the Athenian sun. With Aggelos setting the rhythm with his drums, Stamatis positioning himself behind the mic and, together with Fotis, trading licks and riffs on their guitars, the new group found common ground in their shared influences from the Seattle and Palm Desert rock scenes of the 90’s, as well as their love for the acts that personify the 60’s and 70’s ethos like Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin. With the assistance of various close friends filling in for the bassist spot, Burn The Sun began performing psychedelic heavy rock shows all over Greece. Distilling all of their early experiences, they initially recorded a self-titled demo tape in 2012 followed by the EP Crack Of Dawn (2014), which was recorded live at Unreal Studios in order to capture the energy of their live shows. Burn The Sun continued to expand their musical influences and their thirst for experimentation and so in Spring of 2018, they once again entered Unreal Studios with the aim of evolving their personal musical identity. The results of these endeavours will be heard on the atmospheric, heavy and ambitious sounds of their debut album Le Roi Soleil, set for release in 2022 via Sliptrick Records. Burn The Sun are:

Rolo Tomassi hare never a band to stand still, and can now announced 'Closer (The Edits)' EP, set for release on 5th August. The EP contains newly edited versions of the bands single 'Closer', which is taken from from their critically acclaimed album 'Where Myth Becomes Memory' that was released back in February earlier this year. The band teamed up with Daniel Avery and ATTLAS and Ki Oni & Luke Elliot for the new edits, and release the Daniel Avery edit today, June 9th, on all DSP's. On working this edit and remix project, the band said: "It was great to get the opportunity to have an artist like Daniel Avery produce this edit of the track. We're big fans of his own work so jumped at the chance to have him work on it. Similarly with ATTLAS, who has taken take 'Closer' and opened it up to a whole new audience with his incredible remix. It's just so exciting to hear these other artists take elements from our signwriting and make something entirely new." A little about first collaborator, Daniel Avery: Over the last decade Daniel Avery has cemented a worldwide reputation as one of the most original artists in contemporary electronic music. The release of the seminal debut Drone Logic in 2013 — an album defined by mentor Andrew Weatherall as “gimmick-free machine funk of the highest order” — is a record that still makes its presence felt today. A collaboration with synth master and Nine Inch Nails member Alessandro Cortini spawned the full length Illusion Of Time. The latest albums Together in Static and Love + Light formed sister releases during lockdown and were further proof still of Avery’s range, delicacy and skill as a producer. A self-confessed late-starter to the world of dance floors, instead lured by the guitars of The Stooges and My Bloody Valentine during his teens, over time Avery became fascinated by the expansive possibilities of sound design and refined a beautifully brutal style distinctly his own.

Hailing from Stockholm, Sweden, the four piece blends sweet melodies with fuzzed out guitars into colorful, energetic, and dynamic rock music. The first release from the group is the single ”Los Angeles”, which is out now on all streaming platforms together with a music video. Hasse Karlsson from the band comments: "Los Angeles came to life during the spring. We all longed for the everlasting Swedish winter to end and for the summer vibe to arrive. We always dreamed of the perfect roadtrip since the ones in a cold, dark Scandinavia leaves one hoping for more. This is our soundtrack for that roadtrip to come. The lyrics centers around a wish for a summer road trip to Mexico. On a long car ride like that good music is a most essential part of the feeling. Pavement is a perfect fit for this, and that is why Pavement is the first word sung in this song.“It kicks off with a rowdy intro and lands in a soothing verse which builds up towards a luscious and dreamy chorus that is perfectly suited for a summer drive in your car.” The four piece Bring the Hoax infuses indie rock songs with strong fuzzy guitars and delicately sweet melodies. The songs are held together by an unapologetic force that hardly leaves anyone untouched. It's clear that the band members take their influences from the finishing decades of the 20th century. You can hear hints of Sonic Youth, Dinosaur Jr, Built to Spill and Smashing Pumpkins to name some. Bring The Hoax is a rowdy, but yet polished and pleasant companion in the world of indie rock. Gritty dynamics are key in the songs of Bring the Hoax and the balance between the dirty and beautiful guitar tones versus the mountains of distortion and fuzz can be heard in pretty much every song they ever written. The lyrics are poetic and tell suggestive tales about politics, relationships and the everyday struggle that is life. “Ever since we were kids we have adored a sweet and catchy melody wrapped in a big fuzzy blanket of guitar distortion” - Hasse Karlsson Karl Nordahl and Hasse Karlsson both grew up in Viksjö, north of Stockholm, Sweden, and were probably destined to become friends since they both were equally unable to resist the mesmerizing pull of the massive soundscapes coming out from the punk-, indie- and grunge-era of the 90s. When they many years later had their apartments just shy of a 100 meters apart, it was time to start making music together. The first light the band name Bring the Hoax saw was of the fluorescent kind in a dark hotel room without windows, in the basement of a cheap bed and breakfast in Rhodos, Greece, in 2010. They asked Mark Petterson (My God Damn Territory, Washing Machina) – who Hasse had played with in a couple of bands and projects earlier - to join them on bass. A bunch of drummers later Mark took the seat himself behind the drums when Sara Engström (Washing Machina, Dag och Natt, Tam Tapir) was able to join on bass. Bring the Hoax has recorded and produced 2 eps during the years prior to the 2022 signing with Lövely Records. Many great things are going to be revealed in the present future. Sŵnami release their brand new single, the emotive ‘Paradis Disparu’. It follows the award-winning Welsh indie-pop group’s previous singles ‘Be Bynnag Fydd’, which documented band member Gruff Jones’ journey to accepting their gender fluidity, and double A-side ‘Theatr’ / ‘Uno, Cydio, Tanio’, which came out late last year. The new songs are the first glimpse of the band’s long-awaited second album ‘Sŵnamii’, due out this summer. So far, they’ve been gaining the band support from BBC Radio 1, Clash Magazine, BBC News, and Spotify New Music Friday.
Since launching their debut album in 2015, Sŵnami (pronounced ‘Tsunami’) have been re-writing the script for Welsh-language music, and bringing it to the mainstream. Without compromising on their policy of writing and performing mostly in Welsh, the group have found success because of their unique sound, not in spite of it: "If people like Christine and the Queens can sing in French and Sigur Ros in their own made-up language, why can't we sing in Welsh?" Gruff told the BBC. Their irresistible blend of shimmering guitars, indie sensibilities with pure pop melodies have been winning over fans and critics regardless of their understanding of the Welsh language. Their first album saw them record a coveted BBC Maida Vale session, as well as winning the award for Welsh Language Album of the Year. ‘Paradis Disparu’ blends the band’s perfect melodic mastery with deep, melancholic tones. A song about grief, some of the lyrics translate to “Paradise is too far from us, but we’ll preserve and we’ll be ok”. Ifan Davies of the band says: “Paradis Disparu is about the impossible task of moving on after losing someone. It’s about spiralling into mania, and trying to accept that although what once was, is dead and lost, life must go on.” A music video for ‘Paradis Disparu’ will be revealed soon. The band have become known for working with fellow notable Welsh creatives, and in keeping with this trend, it will star Bafta Cymru Award Winner Callum Scott Howells, famous for his appearance in Russell T Davies’ award winning Channel 4 series ‘It’s A Sin’. Previous Sŵnami videos have starred the likes of Tom Rhys Harries, and Linford Hydes of the Welsh Ballroom Community. Sŵnami is Ifan Davies, Ifan Ywain, Gruff Jones, Gerwyn Murray, and Lewis Williams. The band are due to play a series of summer festivals in Wales, including:
Facebook | Twitter | Instagram | Website | Spotify | YouTube Brazilian global pop superstar Anitta has teamed up with Pedro Sampaio, Dadju, Nicky Jam and MC Pedrinho on “Dançarina Remix”- out now. Listen here. The track is a rework of the hit single from Sampaio’s first studio album. The track’s lyrics include never-before-heard verses in Spanish and French. “Dançarina Remix” maintains the party vibe and sensuality of the original, but offers a fresh new international edge. A special music video for the single is also set to be released in the coming weeks. Sampaio’s new remix, which once again features MC Pedrinho, is reworked with a beat that mixes vocals and rhythms from Anitta, Nicky Jam and Dadju - some of the biggest names in Brazilian, Latin and French music today. Anitta, who was mentioned by name in the original version “Dançarina” (which also samples her song “Menina Má” (“Bad Girl”), now provides vocals throughout the entire track. "I was really pleased with the shout out when the original came out, and it was nice to see how big of a hit it turned out to be. So, of course I couldn’t turn down the chance to be part of this remix with Pedro Sampaio and so many other artists that I absolutely adore", Anitta shared. In the “Dançarina” remix, the Brazilian singer turns the hook “doida pra sentar” (which loosely translates to “desperate to drop it low”) into “loca pa’ bailar” (“desperate to dance”). Anitta’s famous dance step, which went viral on social media, is also given a tip of the hat with “Todas las chicas bailando hasta bajo haciendo el paso de Anitta” (“All the girls gettin’ low with that Anitta step”). The “Dançarina Remix” comes on the heels of Anitta’s highly anticipated new album Versions of Me, out now. Listen HERE. Instagram | Facebook | Twitter | YouTube | TikTok Ahead of their massive shows with Liam Gallagher at Knebworth last weekend, Kasabian have dropped ’Chemicals’, the third track from their highly-anticipated new album "The Alchemist’s Euphoria", out August 5th on Columbia Records. A pulsating, guitar driven anthem and the last track the band recorded for the album, 'Chemicals' is an encompassing pop moment written by Serge Pizzorno and produced by Serge and Fraser T Smith, with mixing from Spike Stent. “It is me telling myself that it is going to be okay” Serge said of the track. “It was me seeing myself in those few weeks when everything kicked off. It's the future me saying to that person: 'This is shit, but don't worry, it will get better.’ So having a song about talking to yourself is universal, I think. We all have to find a way to deal with the complications, the mess and the mortality of life.” Listen to ‘CHEMICALS’ HERE. Of the new album Serge adds: “One thing about this record I feel over the other ones, is it definitely feels like a body of work that belongs together. It was a beautiful moment in mastering hearing it as a piece. I think it really holds up in our seven albums….The Magnificent Seven”. Known for their blistering live shows, Kasabian have announced a run of UK shows this Winter, including a date at London’s Alexandra Palace on 29th October. www.kasabian.co.uk Atlanta-based pop / rock band, Glimmers, share their brand new single, “Scared To Lose,” out now via Common Ground Collective. With this single, the band kicks off a brand new era of music. “Scared To Lose” mixes the band’s love of melodic piano and hopelessly romantic lyrics. Alongside the track, the band also shares the first of a collection of cinematic music videos that follow the journey of finding yourself as you go through the ups and downs of a relationship. Listen to “Scared To Lose” now HERE and watch the video HERE. About the song, lead singer, Maggie Schneider says:- “It’s about being in a situationship - the kind of relationship without a label. While the feelings are reciprocated, the idea of expressing the words out loud is terrifying. I have had my own experiences of being afraid to fall in love, while also being scared to miss out on something special. It is a catch 22.” Over Memorial Day weekend, Glimmers made their debut at So What?! Music Festival in Dallas, TX, playing to a packed crowd at the Idobi Radio Stage. In early 2020, five friends who’d been playing music together since the summer of 2019 decided to put a fresh stamp on their collective, Glimmers. Meeting separately but all through mutual friends, the five members of glimmers formed as the backing band of Atlanta artist Maggie Schneider – but what started as a backing band quickly became a family. The band introduced itself to the world through two complementary EPs, "Cluttered Heart" and "Worlds Apart". Releasing standout singles like “For Me It’s You” and “Not Good At Goodbyes”, both projects encapsulate the feeling of being the main character in a coming-of-age movie. The songs garnered positive attention from outlets like Alternative Press, Emo Nite, and Hot Topic. Now, Glimmers is ready to share the newest iteration of their sound. The pop / rock group’s new music is influenced by the song writing of Mayday Parade, Julia Michaels, and The Band Camino. Get ready for a new and honest chapter about the games we play in our relationships. Glimmers is about connection—whether it be the friendship of the bandmates or the intimate connection felt between the band and their fans at a live show. Stay tuned for more news and music from Glimmers coming soon!
NJ punk band Pollyanna is facing down their anxieties in new single and music video “Relationship Anxiety,” out now here: https://orcd.co/pollyannarelationshipanxiety. The aggressive new track follows previous singles “SLUT,” “Mars,” and “Pathetic.” All three can be found on Pollyanna’s forthcoming album Slime, set to be released on June 17th via I Surrender Records. On the new single, vocalist Jill Beckett (she/they) shares: “’Relationship Anxiety’ is definitely a telling title for what it’s about, but this song actually goes in depth for so much more. For most of my life, I constantly felt anxious at the thought of going into a relationship means you have to make sacrifices to have it work and you can’t ever think about anyone romantically or physically ever again. And that was a constant fear of mine. Not only that but we put so much expectations on ourselves, of when we should be single and when we shouldn’t. For awhile, I had so much fear of going into a relationship because I thought my lifestyle would have to change and I thought that this period of time I should remain single which is in my opinion a false narrative to have. This song is basically about coming to terms with being polyamorous and being able to feel love for multiple people while also having an anxiety that because of that, I would never be in a happy relationship with someone.” Fans can expect more music soon, and look forward to seeing new songs live later this year as Pollyanna hits the road with Forever Came Calling.
Pollyanna is a four piece band from New Jersey composed of lead vocalist and guitarist Jill Beckett, percussionist Daniel McCool, bassist Brandon Bolton, and guitarist Jack Rose. With sounds of power-pop, loud rock, bubble grunge, and punk influences, their name is directly derived from the dictionary definition, “to be unreasonably or illogically optimistic” - perfectly describing front-person Jill Beckett’s ‘stuck in 2017’ incredibly optimistic attitude. After meeting in the first grade, Dan and Jill started the band at just 13 years old, eager to create and play music that would reach audiences beyond the confines of Jill’s open garage doors. Brandon made them a trio in early 2019, bringing 90’s femme punk influence to the group. At the start of 2021, Jack completed the bands’ line up, adding his elemental stabbing guitars and love for shoegaze and metal into the mix. After completing almost 5 tours around the east coast and the Midwest, Pollyanna has won over a following in the New Jersey music scene along with cities in the tri-state and beyond. They plan on leaving a unique mark in the music industry. For more Information, please visit:

Bassist (and songwriter) Mike Natoli says:- "I had just moved back to my hometown and got reluctantly dragged to my 10-year high school reunion. While I wasn’t necessarily questioning myself, it still managed to stir up some weird thoughts and feelings about what I was doing with my life. I wanted to write about the subject from the reverse perspective of “A Plea From A Cat Named Virtute” by The Weakerthans and make it a proposition to my golden retriever Buddy. This wild idea that we could trade lives and he could go out on my adventures while I got to blend in with the scenery and not talk to anyone was something that seemed mutually beneficial." |
