Hotly-tipped Swedish artist Mei River releases the video for his single ‘Peter Parker’ via Columbia / Sony Music Germany. Shot in Stockholm and directed by Daniel Björkman, the video features Mei River intertwined with elements of storytelling and colourful surrealism. Of the video, Daniel Björkman says: ‘To anyone watching I would say there’s nothing here. No more than there is out there. And nothing more to say than has already been said. It’s just a needle in a stack of band-aids, a light that never goes on, a lie you said just for fun. Inside out.’ Frederik Eriksson aka Mei River is a brand-new producer, singer and songwriter, creating music that explores relatable themes of insecurity, curiosity and loneliness packaged in punch, euphoric pop music with components of funk and exotica. ‘Peter Parker’, a track that’s lyrics explore issues with alcohol and substance abuse, is Mei River’s second release to date and follows his debut single ‘Her’, which he released last month via Columbia/ Sony Music Germany. Both singles are off his forthcoming debut EP ‘Tall Trees That Never Fell’. Besvärjelsen (Swedish for “conjuring”) are not your everyday stoner rock band. The Swedish quintet conveys a unique sense of mystique and harrowing beauty through their crushing and alluring brand of rock, carried by Lea Amling Alazam's spellbinding vocals. "These heavy hitting Swedes deliver beautifully produced doom rock with lush soundscapes and terrifying vibes." describes Two Guys Metal Reviews. Watch Besvärjelsen new video for "When We Fall" HERE Drummer Erik Bäckwall says about the video:- "The song is about searching for good when it feels hopeless, The difficulty in finding good people and not just surrounding yourself with stuff that drags you down. It doesn’t really tie in with the video though. The video came out of an idea to make a simple video where all band members where present, since only two appeared in the previous videos from the last album." On "Frost", the follow up to their 2018 debut "Vallmo", the feel of being isolated in a cold wilderness in the grip of higher forces is palpable all throughout the five tracks, with outstanding songwriting from guitarist/vocalists Andreas Baier and Staffan Stensland Vinrot and the forceful rhythm section of Johan Rockner and Erik Bäckwall (both formerly of Dozer). "Frost" was recorded in the dead of winter, in a cabin in the woods of Dalarna county in Sweden. It was mastered my Karl Daniel Lidén. It will be available on August 9th through Blues Funeral Recordings. Besvärjelsen was formed in 2014. Though clearly rooted in the realms of doom, within their engulfing sound lies traces of progressive metal, punk, folk, and classic rock all carefully weaved together resulting in a sound that is at once crushingly heavy and alluringly sophisticated. They released their debut EP "Villfarelser" in 2015, quickly followed by the "Exil" EP (2016) which also celebrates the addition of drummer Erik Bäckwall (former Dozer, Greenleaf) to the lineup. In 2018, the quintet release their first full-length "Vallmo" (Swedish for “poppy”), offering seamlessly wandering from crushing doom riffs to catchy vocals and melodies, deep lyrical content and storming drum work, all topped by stunning guitar solos and, for the first time since the band’s formation, songs in English as well as their native Swedish. A couple of months before the release, the band welcomed bass player Johan Rockner (former Dozer, Greenleaf) to the fold. Besvärjelsen return in 2019 with their new "Frost" EP, an almost full length format that raises the band's standards even higher. It will be available on August 9th worldwide through Blues Funeral Recordings after being first included as part of the exclusive PostWax series. PostWax is a groundbreaking subscription-style series of exclusive records for diehard fans of stoner, doom, heavy, psych rock, launched by Blues Funeral Recordings. The "Year One" series will also feature releases from Elder, Lowrider, Domkraft, Big Scenic Nowhere on limited edition vinyl with jaw-dropping artwork and next-level design. More info here. Her upcoming album Archer is set to be released on Danger Mouse’s 30th Century Records. Her first new music since 2017’s Belladonna of Sadness. The new single is produced by Sam Cohen (Kevin Morby). WATCH HERE When talking about the track Savior (full name, Alexandra Savior McDermott), who hails from Portland, Oregon, says:- "I wrote "Crying All The Time" on New Year’s Day 2018, I had moved back home to Portland after a rough relationship. After being dropped from my previous record label I started attending community college and about two weeks in 30th Century reached out and offered for me to go to NYC and have a new record produced by Sam Cohen. We spent about 3 weeks recording in his studio in Dumbo, Brooklyn, it felt very natural to work with Sam because he is an incredibly kind man, and incredibly talented musician and producer." The Oregon native first gained industry attention in 2012 when she posted a cover of Angus Stone’s “Big Jet Plane” on YouTube. The playful, haunting performance landed her a legion of influential fans—she ended up songwriting with Linda Perry, who compared her to Fiona Apple—and put her on the road toward releasing her debut album, 2017’s Belladonna of Sadness, which was written in tandem with the Arctic Monkey’s Alex Turner and produced by Simian Mobile Disco’s James Ford. Pitchfork praised the album, saying, “Savior has a penchant for clever wordplay and a voice that can hypnotize, terrorize, or both,” and The Guardian swooned for Savior’s “preternatural self-possession” and “crystalline, intimate voice.” Following the announcement of her first tour in 5 years, Grammy-nominated, pop rock icon Avril Lavigne has released the music video for her single “I Fell In Love With The Devil”.
