Hawthorne Heights have premiered new video 'Bad Frequencies' on Rock Sound. The track is taken from album Bad Frequencies which was released earlier this year, the band's first full-length album since 2013 and first release on Pure Noise Records. You can watch to 'Bad Frequencies' here Speaking on the song and video for Bad Frequencies singer JT Woodruff says:- ' One of my favourite places on earth is the California desert. It's a dream and a nightmare at the same time, which is why I love it. I wrote the lyrics to the song “Bad Frequencies” while waiting on Interstate 5 in traffic for 4 hours. My dream then turned into a nightmare. You just have to remember that the nightmare eventually goes away, and you always get back to where you need to be. Visually, much of the video’s vibe is an homage to some of our favourite music videos we grew up to in the 90’s. There is a certain amount of mystique to videos from that era that we absolutely love. Other visual inspirations include Twin Peaks and Black Mirror.' The album was produced by Hawthorne Heights along with Nick Ingram (Hotel Books, Capital House Studio), and mixed by Cameron Webb (Grammy Winner, NOFX, Social Distortion). The band previously worked with Ingram on the Hurt EP as well as Webb for “Push Me Away” which was released last summer ahead of their full run on the Vans Warped Tour. Hawthorne Heights will also be touring the UK and Europe starting this October. Madam X featuring Bret Kaiser on vocals, Maxine Petrucci on guitar, Roxy Petrucci on drums and Chris ‘Godzilla’ Doliber on bass. The video can be viewed here: https://youtu.be/9IVB10MeuBI Formed in 1981 by sisters Roxy and Maxine Petrucci, Madam X recruited bassist Chris “Godzilla” Doliber and vocalist Bret Kaiser, who released their classic, Rick Derringer produced, Jet Records debut "We Deserve The Right" in 1984, spawning the hit Rock single “High in High School”. 4 years later, after Roxydeparted to join future Arena Rock superstars Vixen, and original vocalist Kaiser was briefly replaced by an unknown Canadian vocalist named Sebastian Bach, Madam X disbanded, and would remain mostly inactive until 2014, when the original lineup reunited at the Sweden Rock Festival. Fast forward to 2017, when the Petrucci sisters collaborated with vocalist Mark Slaughter on a Lemmy Kilmister tribute track for their VIP AFTERSHOWproject, Slaughter who introduced Roxy to EMP LABEL GROUP head of A&R Thom Hazaert, who released a 12” “KILMISTER” single for AFTERSHOW, and the conversation soon shifted to the upcoming MADAM X release. The album features 12 hard-hitting slabs of Rock, including the pummelling title track “Monstrocity”, “Resurrection”, “Nitrous”, and an updated version of their 1984 hit “High In High School.” www.facebook.com/MadamXofficial www.madam-x.org Diamante has released her latest music video for the song “Bulletproof” from her debut album, Coming In Hot. The clip showcases a killer training session with fitness motivator and celebrity trainer Melissa Alcantara, known on social media as @FitGurlMel, at Gold’s Gym in Hollywood. Diamante comments:- "Thanks so much to the awesome @Fitgurlmel for the inspiring workout. This song is a reminder that when something in life gets you down, you’re strong and can be bulletproof! It came about from my experience of being with people who always tried to make me feel like I was less-than and constantly put me down, this song is the empowering moment when I realized my self-worth and everything I am capable of." Diamante, 21, brings her own flair to the rock genre with Coming In Hot. As Billboard proclaimed, "Coming in Hot is an excellent showcase for the raw power of her voice, which at times recalls Melissa Etheridge and Sass Jordan blended with the dispassionate élan of Blondie's Debbie Harry." Produced by Howard Benson [Chris Cornell, Kelly Clarkson, My Chemical Romance, Halestorm], the record is a head-turning debut full of "arresting rock anthems," which Cryptic Rock noted in its review. Fans and critics have already been equally besotted by Diamante's room-filling voice. The "Bulletproof" video shows another side of this strong, fierce, rock 'n' roll dynamo. The announcement comes alongside a new single ‘Toast For Dinner’. Healey from the band, who is on lead vocals and guitar for this song but also handles bass duties and back-up vocals on various other tracks on the record, says:- “This song is a tribute to my love of amateur magic, dual guitar riffs and toast. Toast is maybe the greatest food of them all and it is also my go-to if I’m burnt out and can’t find the energy to eat/cook a meal. This song is about a point where I was finding it hard to say no to things and ended up constantly feeling physically and emotionally drained. Sometimes I fantasise about there being multiple versions of myself like in Fantasia’s ‘The Sorcerer’s Apprentice’ so I can invest myself fully in everything that I do.” ‘Every Now & Then’ consists of nine hook-laden tunes about queer feelings, coming out and dealing with social burnout and marks a real period of growth for Wolf Girl. With Healy helming the majority of the songwriting, each track acted as a strange kind of therapy and catharsis, exploring sexuality, gender identity and anxiety. The album was recorded with Mark Jasper of Sound Savers and the band really focused on capturing the energy shown in their live shows. New single & music video ‘Toast For Dinner’ out now: YouTube | Pre-order | Spotify | Apple Music There are a lot of firsts on this record. Christabel gets her first songwriting/lead vocal credit in the form of 'Dream Partner'. She’d chosen a deliberately ‘50s/’60s pop chord sequence and song structure so the band tried to emphasise that in the studio with handclaps and Wall of Sound/Joe Meek type reverbs. ‘Breaking News' also sees the addition of saxophone played by Phil Whaite of Guttfull. “Being fans of X-Ray Spex, Roxy Music and Downtown Boys, we knew we wanted to include horns on this track,” enthuses Healey. “It’s about "choosing to come out when you want", in a society where queer people are forced to do so repeatedly.” In the two years since the release of their much-loved first album ‘We Tried’, Wolf Girl have shared bills with the likes of The Spook School, Girl Ray, and Worriers. They’ve also branched out into other music projects, from The Whooperups (Healey’s collaboration with AC from the Spook School) to Suggested Friends (where Christabel also takes up the drums). The crunching, distorted guitars and catchy melodies that fans will remember from the band’s first album can still be found on ‘Every Now & Then’. But this new album is a bigger, braver and, at times, completely heart-breaking collection of songs and experiences – political, poignant, yet perfectly pop. A former tailor on London's Saville Row, Belgrave's distinctly dark melancholic pop perfectly pairs powerful, emotive songwriting with grandiose choruses inspired by the artist's childhood heroes such as Freddie Mercury, George Michael and Elton John. Nowhere is this more evident than the EP's first single 'Riviera', whose ethereal, dreamlike tone serves as an important introduction to a unique talent impossible to define. On the track, Belgrave explains ""I have always been fascinated by music that I cannot comprehend or understand. Once I heard the vocal sample while writing 'Riviera', I was entranced by it and the rest of the song fell into place around it quite naturally" The 'Riviera' EP will be released via The Shooting Gallery Recordings on May 25th. Now, they are doubling down on what has been a huge response to the song and tour, with the release of a film-clip for the prog / rock track, and the announcement of all support acts for the tour. The video-clip was shot in Brisbane's CBD in March - and it is a frantic, intense, black-and-white clip and matches the attack & pace of the song. Clint Gough, bassist for the band and director of the stark and striking film-clip, says that "This video is a about mental illness. For some people, getting out of bed or walking down the street can seem like an impossible task. And unfortunately, many people choose to pay the ultimate price to escape from their own thoughts. We want to confront people about this issue and the devastating effects it can have. Because the sad fact is, you can never see it coming." Premiering exclusively with Loudwire today, this song was recorded as a tribute to Type O Negative and lead singer Peter Steele leading up to the anniversary of his death tomorrow. On the track, singer Larissa Vale shares "We were inspired by the song conceptually, and wanted to take creative liberty in really making it our own. People may say prematurely that 'it doesn't sound like the original,' but it really sounds like us as a band, and that, we are truly proud of. The emotional context of the song remains intact and we hope that fans will enjoy this version as much as we did making it." The video features drumming sensation Casey Cooper, and is the second part of this project, alongside the previously released video for "My Girlfriend's Girlfriend" On the project, Black Satellite shared "We wanted to release these songs as a tribute to the legacy that Pete left behind. These are big shoes to fill, literally, and we saw it not only as a challenge, but a way for us to experiment and grow artistically. There is definitely something to be said in his music, and covering the songs was our way to recognize that and tip our hats to him." Both tracks will be available across all DSPs tomorrow, April 14th. Called a "rock band beyond definition" by idobi Radio, Black Satellite have been crafting mind-blowing alt-rock for over six years. Comprised of Larissa Vale (vocals) and Kyle Hawken (guitar), the duo came together in their hometown of State College, Pennsylvania and quickly formed a loyal bond that created the foundation for Black Satellite. Black Satellite was named one of Alternative Press' "12 Bands You Need to Know" sharing that "Frontwoman Larissa Vale offers an aggressively elegant vocal range that pairs perfectly over Kyle Hawken's melodic guitar riffs and instrumental work. Each song from Endless effortlessly shows off the duo's provocative sound and captivating alt-rock essence." Additional support from the band from outlets like Billboard, Loudwire, New Noise Magazine, Alternative Press and more have continued to validate and solidify Black Satellite's place in the rock world. Mastered by Ted Jensen (Muse, Marilyn Manson, Deftones), the band's debut album Endless paints an almost cinematic landscape, with each track revealing a new facet of the duo's style and complexity. Pairing influences ranging from Alice in Chains to Gojira with personal, emotional experiences and stories, Black Satellite have crafted a unified body of work that showcases their undeniable range. Vale remarked that with Endless, "We not only confronted our fears head-on, but were completely immersed in them." https://blacksatellite.com/ https://www.facebook.com/BlackSatelliteOfficial https://www.instagram.com/blacksatellite https://twitter.com/BlackSatellite Amber Arcades, the alias of Annelotte De Graaf, today shares a brand new track entitled “Goodnight Europe”, which is available now via Heavenly Recordings. This is the first music since the Dutch-born musician released her critically debut album Fading Lines in 2016 followed by the Cannonball EP last June. The track is available to stream and share via Spotify HERE. Annelotte said the following about the track: "I guess about half of it is me actually being worried about the current state of the Union. The other half is me kind of messing around with, and making fun of, this archetype of the tiresome existentialist academic in me." Also shared today is a short film directed by Elliott Arndt (http://www.elliottarndt.com/) starring Annelotte, which hints at upcoming news of a second album. This video is part 1 of 3 and features Amber Arcades’ new single, “Goodnight Europe”. Director Elliott Arndt says of the film: "A lot of the themes Annelotte wrote about for her record struck very close to home. What I found especially poignant in her lyrics is how it’s mostly through a study of herself and a nonchalant look outside her window that Annelotte makes us get a sense of the political turmoil that’s affecting her. In that respect, I was interested in trying to represent this sense of “banality” in a young adult couple in 2018, who are not only the fruit of a vibrant European Union, but also perhaps the ones most directly affected by its dismantling. I wanted to depict a static, homesick, glitchy romance. And here it is, trying all it can to grow against, amongst and beyond the constricting geographical barriers surrounding it.” Watch and share the short film HERE. Amber Arcades will also be performing live in the UK and Europe this summer with a London show at Omeara on June 7th 2018. Full live dates are as follows with UK shows in bold: June 4 – 7: Beaches Brew Festival, Marina Di Ravenna, Italy June 6: Le Pop-Up Du Label, Paris, France June 7: Omeara, London, UK June 13: Kantine am Bergain, Berlin, Germany June 14: EKKO, Utrecht, Netherlands July 21: Bluedot Festival, Macclesfield, UK August 17: Green Man Festival, Crickhowell, UK September 7: Festival No. 6, Minffordd, UK http://www.amberarcades.net https://www.facebook.com/AmberArcades/ https://soundcloud.com/amber-arcades/ https://twitter.com/AmberArcades |
